Two shurflo batteries not holding charge.
« on: November 24, 2011, 05:43:47 pm »
That's it really gang. All of a sudden two batteries for my backpack...both charged for 6 hours at night, ain't holding a charge a day if I'm lucky. Could it possibly be the backpack itself OR the charger itself????? How can I test anything? Any help would be great. Thankyou.....

Havent got one of those, sorry.  But have a battery intelligent charger that will say if the battery is knackered, when i charge it, what do you charge it with?  If both batteries are gone at same time id be tempted to say fault with the backpack.  But unless you have a spare backpack bit difficult to say.

Anyone know of common backpack electrical failure problems with backpacks?

Oh, pole2pole, you never mentioned how old the inidividual components are, etc.  more info the better.

6 hours used to last a week mate. Let alone a day. Confession time :-) I HAVE got a spare backpack. Battery seems to be fine in that sooooo it has to be backpack. Damp maybe???? If so how can I or what use to spray electrics in it?????

.......... then put your battery from the good packpack into the not so good backpack, and put your 'new' battery into the good backpack and you will see where the problem is. Simples.

It's Deffo the older backpack that's the problem. I seem to get grief every autumn/winter. Something always goes wrong with the electrics......

I would be tempted to spray a wad of wd40 in there, i rely on that stuff form everything!  Dont know if thats a wise course to take........has it got particularly wet then recently?  maybe worked in the rain?  Never used back pack so dont know how complex the electrics are, do you bring it in overnight or leave it in cold/damp vehicle?  Might help keeping it indoors over weekend and see if helps on monday.

Other than that i have nothing.  And that werent much !   :o
