Greetings all!

I have a 20mm deep nylon twist white shag pile with MINGING draught marks.

Are they ever going to come out completely? what should I use to shift them? (have used solution of multi-pro, and stain pro, some improvement but marks remaining)  carpet is 18m old and 1st clean.

Useful technical advice gratefully received!

Ultrapac Renovate from Prochem is the best option ,  but as draught marks are  all the way through the carpet ,  it is often not possible to remove all of them.

There is no best chemical as all draught marks are not the same. In different circumstances I have found Stain pro, ultrapac renovate, filter pro and eco spotter to be the "best chemcial"

As important is agitation with a soft brush. This greatly improves the performance of the chemical. Extra time spent agitation will pay off in results.

Another factor which is important is heat. The hotter the rinse the better the result.

My favourite tool for draught marking is the cfr tool. It allows you to clean right up to the edge and won't overwet the carpet easily.

In a badly draught marked room I would test each chemical to see which is going to work best. Then spray and agitate a section of draught marking before rinsing through with a cfr handtool. Once all the edges are complete i would then clean the room as normal.

Hi,
Prochem have a new product out called 'Filter-Out just for filtration soil lines. I did always use ultrapac Renovate with very good results but have found that Filter-Out is just as good if not better used it on ink toner as well. both on wool and synthetic carpets.

For best results - thoroughly vacuum clean and remove all the dry soil.

Apply host sponges and gently brush-in with a white host spotting brush.

If the draught mark persists - try host sponges SJ.

We have had excellent results using this system - give me a call on 01843 600088

Don't wet clean it - your make matters worse by driving the soil to the base of the carpet pile.

Not sure if you mean this is your carpet or a customers, anyway always advise that they have the gap between the skirting and floor sealed with silcone sealer to prevent future problems. Sealer needs to be flexible to prevent cracking during building movement

We found that Ultrapac Renovate is just as good as their new product 'Filter Out'. But with the price tag of filter out (dont know how they justify it), we willl stick to renovate!

Of course Nigel is right - sufficient agitation/time/heat will remove most of it, if not all if your lucky. Good luck.

Wet cleaning is fine if you follow the advise given, don't believe the scaremainery that goes on in some posts.

  Yep  i too use ultrapac renovate
soak the blacl line and aggitate. leave for 10-15mins (this is the secret) most techs don't leave chemicals long enough to do their work(dwell time) and extract , should do the trick
