Pretty much as described; if you use a 4040, how much waste are you producing and do you think it has an effect on the life of your membrane?

I have an hf5 and my waste/pure is set 50/50
I dont have the pressure boosted and I recently replaced the membrane, the previous one lasted about 2 years.
I think the ratio I'm using definately played a part in this but I can produce 650 ltrs at this ratio in about 3 hours without a pump ,
financially I'm ok with this , if I get 2 years use from each membrane

mine is 50/50 and the membranes have lasted near;y 4 years. the secret to long life is good pre filters changed regularly, use a softener and flush for 15 - 20 min a a few times a week.
The best way to predict the future is to create it.

apparently using booster pump also lessens life expectancy of membrane..... tho think that depends also on water flow from tap
