4040 issue

Just set up my HF4 4040.

TDS in 360-ish

60psi

Cant seem to get output TDS lower than 40?!

Any guesses?!

Have you flushed it (you need to do this for at least an hour) then run it for another hour then check it will come down. Even more over the coming days, thats what mine have done anyway!

test again in an hour or longer --   my tds is 320 and i'm getting 003 out  ;D  happy days.
( merlin at it's best was 009 - but after 2 years and making approx 160,000 ltrs of pure it had crept
upto 30 ! )

Gaps paperwork says 10 minutes flush?!

once its "bedded in" new ro can take a couple of hours to flush then once a week for 10 minutes .... not that Im one to give advice as flush mine about every 2 months as keep forgetting but then flush it for an hour

HF5 4040 ... tds in of about 180 to 220 varies during year and tds out of 3 to 5

changed my prefilters and dropped from tds out of 10

my resin has lasted for 6 months but tds has SHOT UP to 2 after di so best change resin  ;D

Regular flushing is much more important then doing it once a week for an hour. For every fill flush it for 10min. This also helps get the air out of the membrane, membranes which are not wet properly fail.

Is it a new housing? New membrane?
Internal O rings (which seperate waste and feed from pure) can wear and need to be replaced after time.

36!!! Thats after over an hour and a half of flushing, and the waste almost maximum, so RO water is just trickling out.

This cant be right surely?

My Merlin with 2 year old filters produces more and better quality  ???
