Messer - ex customer - ru doing mine next
« on: November 17, 2011, 07:53:16 pm »
Dropped this guy about 5 months back due to never being in when I knocked - access thru garage to do rears .......
except he was in just didnt want them doing so pretended to be out unless they were minging - so like I say dropped him.

Do 4 houses opposite his so I know he has seen me about .... anyways he wanders over today and says "u doing me next?"

no sorry dropped you off my list few months back as you were never in

"well im in now"

no sorry only got time to do my regulars these days so no time to do yours

"but missus wants them done for Christmasc !!!!"

sorry you will have to catch Dave the other window cleaner that does this estate

"he stopped coming - dont know why - all you window cleaners are the same - unreliable !!!"

so just smiled at him and said - yeah world full of unreliable customers as well, now if you excuse me got a new customer to go and quote

he is right  the world is full of unreliable window cleaners,  i think it is a check that we expect to get paid as well,  and custy seem to think that if they avoid us for a month  and the next clean comes around then should get it for free

I had one yesterday, didnt want them done but wouldnt tell me why. Thought I was rude for enquiring why.

Very arrogant, wouldnt let me speak, shouted me down, nasty person. Can be doing without individuals like that in my life these days.

i send one of my lads in  to people like that. that pesky  customer can be turned to good advantage , interior work, cabinets +blind cleaning can mean each visit is an especially good earner. i usually mention in a deadpan voice that the blind cleaning jobs coming up yet again as i scan the diary ---- to be met with A GRoan from the back of the van

I particularly like your reply ian, very nice, new quote to do, lol. it is nice to be able up pick and choose alright. prob take our position for granted now that we are established.

couple of similar myself, couple of years ago had some new customers further along our estate, always stressing when week number 3 ended in case we didn't turn up on week 4, and started ringing to check we were still cuming. then on week 2 one day had answer phone message on a Friday afternoon when I'd parked up early: just wondering if you've given up window cleaning or got another job, saw your car parked up all afternoon and thought we may need to find another window cleaner! thankfully they are less OCD, or as Roy harding's favourite word, anal. one of our bettercustomers now, always have a cuppa for us ready.

I dumped a similar one last week. As I pulled into her cul-de-sac I saw her on her pc through her bedroom window so I knew she was in. However when I knocked on her door there was no answer so I dumped her. Shes my book keeper too so shes done herself out of £300 in January for playing hide and seek with me!!!

had one this week.she was chatting across the road to another ex customer who messed me about.she watched me pull up,unwind the hose and extend pole.i was just about to start and she said"can we leave them for a bit as the insides windows are filthy!"(this is a 8 weekly job).

i told her firmly but politely i wouldnt be cleaning her windows again and wound hose back in and drove off.

whats the chances next spring shell be asking me to clean hers again?no chance!ive never liked her from the beginning.unfriendly and looks down her nose at me although ive always been polite and cheery with her!

ive picked up a few new jobs the last few weeks that more than covers for her £12 clean.

this is always the case.so no worries!! ;D ;D ;D

These were 2 all dears, always in, always paid cash, but who joined the:
"its not really worth doing it today" brigade.

Non payers are different, they are just taking you for a ride.  think weve only had 3 accounts so far that have not got money from, 2 were pikeys (mother and daugher) and one moved and has been untraceable.  Total owed £50.  Not so bad in 8 years.  Not a softie with non payers Ian, im with you on that one.  Fair pay for job well done is my motto.

had one this week, five months late, finally wanted them doing, (£20, 10min job) i agreed. then i decided shes having a £10 late charge, so rang her up the day i was due and told her, she was not happy, and cancelled.

but no skin off my nose, i was only making £40 a year off her. im hardly going to miss her!

going to replace all my muppets soon

If they are in and they want them doing then DO THEM .  Never turn business away. Money is what you work for. Not some ego trip.

Money talks principles don't. Messers are always going to be there but a messer with money is still a customer. His money looks just the same as anyone else's once its in your pocket. fifteen minutes and you are off up the road with his money in your pocket.

I can't believe the attitude of some of the people on here. Yes they are annoying but I go out with only one aim. To bring back as much money as I can at the end of the day. As for the rest well WTF. get used to it

Why get so awkward?
