Polishing oak wood floor
« on: November 17, 2011, 01:25:47 pm »
Got a 4 bed house of carpets to do but they also want a large kitchen with solid oak floor buffed, haven't seen it yet but customer says it doesn't need stripping just wants buffing/polishing.
Only have slow'ish speed rotaries, will these do the job - but slower?
Or will I have to hire a high speed rotary?

Thanks
Paul

Your machine will be fine.
The main thing you need to establish is whether the floor has been lacquered/varnished or oiled/waxed.

This will determine what you need to do to the floor.

Usually this type of request is code for "my floor needs sanded and re-sealed but I dont want to pay the money" you may be lucky though.

If you can report back when you have seen it I can guide you better as there are a few options. Some pics if you can get them will help.
