Hi All,

Does anyone use an immersion heater in their tank for hot wfp water?

I'm thinking of getting one of these and powering from a seperate leisure battery...

if i am reading that right, it will kill ur battery and for it to work you will need to keep van running all the time,  waste of money if you ask me

A 1200 watt immersion will heat 1 Litre of water 12 degrees C in 1 minute and draws around 100 Amps.
 

if you got a 200 lit tank then you will need 20000 amps just to raise the water 12 c

Maybe you could just have it heating the water whilst the van is driving... It would keep it warm for the day?

Some people on here do use immersion heater elements in their tank but they use the 240 volt 3kw elements.
So it will have to run off of mains electricity supply via an extension lead.

Doubt it'll work. We looked into it last year and a vehicle battery wont do enough power.

Correct! They work too.

Also - a 12v battery is no good.
