this year than the previous two.there is still money out there

Ive picked up about £100 in monthly work and about £30 in two monthly work along with £125 in one offs and all ive done is about 6 hours leafleting, Added £9k to my business in total this year and ive done no more than 18hrs leafleting all year

I'm going to start up a round around our estate, I've got two customers already (neighbours)  . It's mainly home owner semi's and bungalows and I don't think I've ever seen a window cleaner on the patch in the 15 years I've lived here, certainly never had a leaflet through the door.

If I leaflet drop the whole estate (close on about a 1000 houses if not more) what sort of take up should i expect for a 1000 leaflets?
Also not too sure what to call my round, was thinking of naming after the estate name to make it feel more local for the customers so maybe be inclined to use me if they know I'm from around there parts.

when i first started out i thought my estate of 500 houses that i had never seen a window cleaner i would get a load of customers.... i got 3.

Worth a shot, but dont go expecting a full round on just your estate mate

I would definitely say go for it. I am building my business up from scratch in, of all places, Ireland. The economic climate is very grim here. Even so, I am now in my 15th week, and have 122 customers, so I have made a fair start.

It is hard going, but if you are determined to make it work, you will. I personally wouldn't recommend using the name of your estate as the name of your business. It may give the impression that you are limiting your business to that area alone. Realistically, you may pick up 1 customer for every 30 doors you knock, so you may have to try elsewhere once you have covered your estate. I have picked up my customers primarily by door knocking, and supplementing this with leaflets. I am beginning to pick up new work via word of mouth recommendation as well, and so will you once your face becomes more familiar and your reputation begins to grow.

if you are right then go and knock the 1000 doors !  - if you knock the first 50 Saturday and actually talk to 20 of them you
should convert between 8 and 12 of these into instant customers

it's an excellent time of year to get new customers - and long lasting ones as well !

it will soon become clear if there are other windy's servicing your estate.
