Am I missing something with marketing these days? What's the point of your facebook page just being full of carpet cleaners?

I'd have thought it was a mean to interact with Customers, to entice them to get others to LIKE your page, thus creating an online data base of potential Prospects?

I can Understand why suppliers on this want you on there's!!!!
Carpet, Upholstery cleaning & hard floor cleaning.

its a means of sharing information and ideas among like minded people in your chosen industry.
professionals in a given trade are more likely to interact with other professionals than your jack the lad fly by night guy with a vax machine who is just in it for the beer money.
its all about perception and educating the public in the difference between the two!

Hey guys i just wanted to share this with you regarding facebook. I noticed a few were struggling and needing some help to get likes on your facebook page and i know how hard it can be as when there isnt many likes on a Fan page its hard to get other people to like the page.

If any of you are interested i know how to get at least 350 likes sometimes more on your facebook fan page. These likes will be from people in the UK and US but you need to understand that these initial likes may or may not be interested in your services .

The whole purpose of this exercise is about social proof so that other people who are interested in your services want to join your page.

Its kind of like this senario. Two nightclubs are in the city center. One looks quiet while the other has a huge queue outside. Which one – besides queuing – would you prefer to be inside?

Thats why when you only have 20 or 50 likes on your page its very difficult to grow the page quickly but the more people who like you the easier it becomes and it snowballs from there and becomes easier to get more people. Thats why you see a lot of business fan pages that never grow much bigger than 50-100 likes.

If any of you would be interested let me know your thoughts on it and i will see if i can help you

Some of you may know that i have a Web design Seo business dealing with all this kind of stuff everyday long.

If any of you are interested i can provide a really cheap service that i can guarentee you at least 350 likes sometimes more on your facebook fan page. These likes will be from people in the UK and US but you need to understand that these initial likes may or may not be interested in your services .

Hmmmmmmmmm
Why do I hate SEO so called experts? is it because they rear there ugly heads in every orafice of life.
Srry fella my missus says your a C/C so i will go slightly gentle with you but..........
I feel that there are so many ppl out there that find it so easy to belittle efforts made by cash strapped small buisness's making out they can make your webb page do cart wheels and inject your buisness with 100% more buisness AND get you to front page on google for a mear finacial payment.
I have had a so called professional build me a webb page that was launched last year and has done little to nothing for my buisness.
I have a great missus ( dont let her know Ive said that mind) who has over the past 4 years chopped and changed our webb site to what we have now AND got it on front page of google all for very little expense.
basically what im getting at is if you have the ability to do something ,do it yourself.
If you need the help of an expert then like we all do we go find one.
Scott i know your just letting people know you have another string  to your bow but why would anyone want to have likes from strings of people on there facebook who when they realise they didnt actually add will probley complain that they have been force added which could lead to the facebook account being removed and why would a U.K based buisness want likes from the U.S? theres gains for doing this? me personally think
this is black hat marketing and a very dodgey way to go about things, also will get u penalised if caught.

No disrespect but i sounds like to me you have had a bad experiance with these "So Called SEO Experts " as you put it.

Im a small business just like you so i understand totally but i think you are tarring me with the same brush as your so called seo expert proffesional.

I have loads of satisfied customers that i have ranked high in the search engines  and they do get buisness from there websites everyday. In fact for some of my clients this is the only place they get there business.

Let me tell you Building websites and SEO are 2 different things, and this is where the problems start. Most of these people out there building websites have no idea about SEO or keyword research. So when there so called expert builds them a website for £100 and they get no business and they wonder why. These are usually the same business owners building free websites and wondering why they dont get any business.

Like you say if you can do something do it your self but most business owners i have come accross learning about SEO, PPC, Facebook advertising, Google Places, CPA and general internet marketing is a way to specialised subject so if your wife can do all that then hats of to you.

As you say its only taken her 4 years to get you on the first page. I can usually get a website on the first page in 1-3 months there is the difference.

Regarding your comments on Facebook if you read my post you will see i did explain its about social proof but obviously that bit passed you over. There is nothing black hat about it grey hat maybe.

These are genuine people and will not get your facebook page banned in any way.

Anyway im not really here to argue with people I was only trying to help on the forum but i respect your opinion, but i would appreciate if you didnt tar me with the same brush because of a bad experiance you have had in the past.

I dont think I put websites and SEO's in the same bracket ,I just mentioned both in the same post.
I didnt say it took 4 yrs to get on front page,I said over 4 yrs its been chopped and changed.
the part where SEO and web builders are the same is they both promise the world AT A PRICE!!!!!!! when people can take time out and do it themselves.
The idea of likes on facebook is that you personally add/like people yourself, if you are adding people in mass as you say you can then thats blackhat fella, dressed up how you want.
AND yup It wasnt a post to tar and feather but like all forums a space to air my view.

hey your exactly right i have to agree with you a forum is for airing your views and its also to help people that was all i offered. A forum isnt really to have a personal attack on others because of some bad experiance you have had in the past!!!! fella.

You could apply this nonsense in any walk of life just because someone hires a rug doctor and can push a wand over a floor does not make them a carpet cleaning expert, in the same way that someone who can change a bulb on their car does not make them a mechanic or someone can wire a plug it does not make them an electrician.

Yes people can learn to do things themselves and i love to see business owners take an interest in the internet side of there business and try things themselves because believe me there is plenty who dont.  And like any business there is things you can do yourself if

A:  you got time on your hands to learn

B You can find someone to show you

Thats why i am part of forums to offer some help when and where i can from the knowlage i have from that buisness its certainly not as you put it

.

Because the internet changes at such great pace what worked 3 months ago does not always work now as internet marketing is such a vast subject and requires a lot of trial and error plus money to test things.

On a closing note to let you know your website isnt optimised at all. The reason your on page one of google for the search term carpet cleaning coventry is because your Google Places Listing is slightly better optimised through luck and nothing else than your competitiors and even the top 2 are not really doing anything special. If your Google places listing was fully optimised plus your website then you would be in position 1 instead of position 3-4 but im sure as you said "you can do it yourself" if you have expertise in Google Places Optimisation!!!!

But what would a

Hi Billy

You beat me to it i dont know why the link wasnt working but im sure it is now as ive just checked it.

Glad you like it i appreciate your comments. That website is brand new straight out the box so to speak it was only indexed by Google 3 days ago so there is a bit of work to be done on it to get it to rank properly for the correct keywords etc but that will take a few months or so.

There you go Helen have a good nosy around and id be glad to hear your comments or feedback  ;)
