Hi guys

Those using a 1.5inch whip hose,
What would be your optimum length, performance verses ease of use.

Many thanks

Mr B
If in doubt.....Leave it out !!

I'm currently using apprx 8' length, but I'm awaiting some cuffs to lose the whip altogether. Apparently it makes a big difference, but I'll wait and see..

Sorry, can't imagine why you would use a whip hose, just use 2in or even 2.5in direct to a 2in wand, you'll soon get used to it and to the increased airflow.

Yep, 2" all the way. Just use a 2" to 1.5" reducer cuff at the wand. Oh and Nick's soft 2" hose is much more flexible than standard 2"

Get rid of the whip hose, it eats performance.

Not sure if its the same one. Nick at Solutions has been selling these for years and mine is 2yrs old and never had a problem with collapsing. Its a 45 blower too.

I only use it on the wand end (50ft), with the other tougher stuff on the reel.

Hi Mark

It was about 2 years ago when we brought the Phoenix. at that time Nick was located within Hydramaster so It could of been his hose. It got so bad that we reverted to using an old 2" grey vac hose from Spurgeons. We now use the orange hose from Hydramaster

I had the 2 inch flexible blue  hose from solutions 50ft length and not only did it collapse while using around some stairs it  creased and split in two only had it about three months Nick sent me a joiner free of charge but i was a bit miffed as i thought it should have been replaced.

Had my cool cuffs delivered today, only had some rugs to do so it's hard to tell the difference, but moving around without the whip wasn't as cumbersome as I expected.

Be interesting to see what it's like around a house now.

On a seperate note, I'm quite impressed with how well the cool cuffs attach, a lot more secure than the push in fittings.

Mr B

Ease of use = performance I use about 8ft and mine are push fit :o

I use the Mytee® CUFF-LYNX™. Brilliant cuffs to work with...especially in cold weather. I also use a 10ft. wipping hose and have not found it to lower performance of vacuum.

I mostly use my 2" wand but when using 1.5" tools I use a 5ft whip - any shorter it would be a pain, and on a wand it means there's just enough for the 2" and cuff joint to stay on the floor so it's not pulling - makes the wand really nimble to move about and you can do awkward spaces and round 90deg corners etc which you can't with 2"

I've tried 2" straight onto the 1.5" tools and to be honest I'd rather put my todger through a food blender.  What a cumbersome way of working.  I bought my TM to make life easier for myself, not fight snake with rigormortis.

On typical domestic hose runs of under 100ft a short whip makes naff all difference to airflow.

I'm pretty sure that's a euphamism..
