Good evening all,

I have a trolley setup that i use for about half of my monthly work its a wcw system.. Now from day one i have always used clx with two super lite brushes with pencil jets (flow controller set between 30/35) for rinsing..

I bought some of gardiners fan jets for a change to see how i'd get on with them and to help rinsing hydrophobic glass... so i went out to work with my fan jets installed today but in order to achieve fan spray i need to turn the flow rate up to 50/60 which works great but i'd be doing a 25L drum twice as fast.. If i keep the flow rate at 30/35 its niether pencil or fan   

Can anyone advise if im doing something wrong here please!!!!

I use a Superlite DT Mono brush with fan jets and rinse on the glass.
Yes your flow rate will be higher but if you work at a decent speed and rinse on the glass you should find you actually use less water.

what do you set ur flow rate at to achieve a decent rinse???

I've used fans for nearly 2 years - and altho it sounds strange to have a higher flow rate and use less water
that is exactly the case -the fan spreads the water right across the width of the brush and you get an instant
curtain of water down the glass so saving time & water rinsing.

i have my pure freedom controllers set at 62

the new gardiners fan are really good far more punchy than lurmark ones on the same flow rate

Once i got into things i must say its far quicker working with fans i just wasnt sure turning up the controller to 50/60 was saving water.. so the fan jets at purefreedom are not as good as the new gardiners then?

The holes smaller on the lurmark then causing more mist with less power mate?? I might buy some for my other brush head that's all..

Do the lurmarks get knocked about on the frames while cleaning cause they look like they stick out abit..

I use the Lurmark fan jets and they do stick out a bit from the brush stock but never had a problem with them scratching any frames or glass.

I've used fan and pencil and am happy with either. But use a tap to regulate flow.

I use a tap on the hip to control flow and when I use fan but want a low flow pencil pattern I turn it down (say on leaky frames/georgian/running along just under the top edge of aluminium frames/perished seals just below the powder coating/seal etc) and it becomes a light pencil.

Obviously pencils stay pencil but with lower flow.

AVO, it depends what brush you are using, if you have an extreme then use the new fan jets, but if you have a standard super lite then those blue fan jets are very good.

'mono super-lite dt' so is this brush good for the job lee... hows come the extreme aint no good?

you need to drill a larger hole for the blue fans jets and you end up loosing some bunches of bristles, you can fit them too the extreme but you have to be very careful when drilling the bigger hole.

you need to drill a larger hole for the blue fans jets and you end up loosing some bunches of bristles, you can fit them too the extreme but you have to be very careful when drilling the bigger hole.

Yeah i see what your saying the extreme looks alot thinner in width but looks like you did a top job on fitting them.. what size y peice and hose is needed and do i drill straight through or just halfway into the brush???
