i also wanted to know from any gutter vac guys how important they think it is to buy the camera equipment as well as the actual gutter vac itself?

Bought one 3 years ago. Fell apart. Firstly the wheels then the side handles came off as they're only held on by rivets and the holes wore with rust resulting in them falling through. The motors gradually faded and there wasn't as much suction there after 6 months as from brand new. The hose that came with was cheap crap.

what do you use now for your gutter vac blast away?

I had exactly the same with the Omivac type that was sold by Dualpumps. lasted a year before it fell apart.
Expensive crap!!

so what do you use now hydrophyl?

The one you are looking at but with superlight poles for the bigger jobs and a dirt cheap Lidl 1500w vac that stays in the van for domestic jobs. The big vacs are great until you want to provide your own power - then you have to lump a massive generator about.

I do but rarely use it. I made up a cctv camera ages ago for commercial work.
Thing is the vacs - even the big ones have their limits so the chances are your're going to need a ladder on the domestic stuff anyway. I normally climb up and take a look these days rather than farting about with the camera.
Commercial work you'll have to use a camera or another safe means.

you cant get better then getting up there and blasting the poop out with a jet wash ladder stay and away you go

for the money it def does the job and like the previous post stated - you will still need a ladder to check it after anyway.

these guys sell a mirror which is a handy tool to have with you.

yes the vacs (clarke 20 & 30) are a low price and not as strong as the £800+ vacs but id rather buy the clarke vac every so many years if needed.

we have done over 120 houses so so with this vac and 13 schools with them to.

all no probs so far - yes im sure i will come across a really bad gutter that the clarke vac wouldnt manage to well but there a good hook tool for the really bad thick and heavy stuff.

i say for money its its worth a punt.

Thanks wc solutions, i definately like the price of the clarke models. and the mirror tool is a brilliant idea.

Normally i do gutters on a ladder but unfortunately i've got some on a school that just aren't accessible via a ladder and so I need a gutter vac.

so you reckon a clarke 30 then?

what about the karchers?

the 20 litre is fine mate and when/if you speak to nick he will just say go with the 20 as its cheaper.

i would spend that little saving on the longer suction pipes they do.

I got the ets vac,its done me proud although its a bit bulky and weighs alot when full,cleaning the filter is a pain ,im sure its the same in other vacs .id give it a 7 out of 10'.

I was looking at the same system the ET one ,, I got positive feedback , some one suggested a polarbrite , which looks great , as does the clarke ,
Realistically how much power is required to get the most stubborn turf out of gutters?

Can you get away with a lower wattage motor , or is better to have the power if you need it?
