it doesnt matter if you invoice them or not vat is added to all your jobs(if you declare them) flat rate is good if your taking the hit on dom and have a 50/50 split dom and com.

cant grow with out going vat registered bit it can take over you the larger it gets and run you into the ground.

like some have said profit is important and not turnover so get your profit marginds right has the bigger you grow the more expensive running a business becomes. o ye and the bigger the head ache

Danny, let us have some feedback on what your accountant has advised you to do.
Are you working on your own or do you have staff?

I have one full time employee and one part time. I cant get an appointment this week have made one for next monday. Ill let you know.

Because they are idiots.  There is no other possible reason (seriously)

You are quite right! So many times I've heard of small businesses "dipping" into the vat money.......profit margins and cashflow procedures in place would stop this happening :)

That is correct - every week when you do your banking you must put aside 12% or 20% whatever is relevant for you in your reserve account and then it is never a problem / can never be a problem regardless of how large you become
..... the thing is that whoever is doing the window cleaning whether it be you, your employees or subbies they are the ones who are really and truly affected as they have to do more work to reach their daily target ..... c'est la vie
