hey guys i was wondering if anyone could help me, i have a van mount and am going to use a backpack for a member of staff to do the backs, i was thinking the staff could fill the backpack whilst i am collecting putting away the hose etc, the only thing i am thinking of is, the back pack will need water that has passed through the di vessel, so should i fill the 25 litre containers first  throught the di vessel and then pick up the barrels and empty them into the backpack (how long will the water stay good in the barrels) or do what i was thinking which was dissconnect the hose running from the di to the hose and stick it in the backpack and then just replace, this i should think would take about 3 mins and would involve me only pouring the barrels in the the main tank?

Does anyone else do this?

Hi Richard, I have 3 25 lt drums which I fill with pure at the beginning of the day, I also fill my backpack . Your employee can then go back to the van to fill up as needed. The pure won't go off.

We also have this problem. My son prefers to use his backpack all the time and uses the pump on a very slow speed to fill his 20 litre container while he's cleaning.
The problem is that 2 people cannot work of his van if he needs his mother to help him on occassion.

I would say the answer is to plumb another outlet into the side of the tank with a seperate on/off valve and use gravity to fill the container whilst he's using the water in his backpack.
It wouldn't take him long to work out how much he will need to turn the tap on to keep his backpack going.

Try a 12v sub pump, put in van tank, Gardiners do them I think, get the tubing with the petrol pump style gun to fill up the backpack, will take 10 secs max

You can get 12V bilge/ transfer pump off eBay for under £20 delivered. The one I have does 30litres a minute and fills my backpack up in no time at all. I used a bit of heavy duty velcro to stick it to the bottom of my tank and just pull the 1" hose out whenever I need to use it. It works extremely well.

You could divert the water using a t piece and ball valve before it reaches the pump so you are just using gravity to fill the backpack,fills a lot quicker and less drain on the battery
