Calling all Oven cleaners
« on: November 09, 2005, 12:10:38 pm »
I came across the Association of approved oven cleaners web site, when i enquired about joining i found it to be tied to The oven cleaning company and only open to those who have paid the semi/ franchise fee for training with them and buying their package. Surely this is not an independent association so
Is there a "proper" independent association out there ? if not anyone fancy starting one that is open to all as the carpet cleaning association is.

Lina ,easier to explain via phone ,but here is a brief on the subject anyway.Like anything it is a competitive market and you would need to invest in training ,van with solution tank, cleaning materials and marketing outlay.hope this is of some help to you. Paul

why would you need a solution tank paul, i thought you go in the house with a few chemicals, sponges, and some scrubbing brushes ?

We do not use anything other than non caustic, fume free, bio-degradable products, To do a truly professional clean a solution tank is a must , you also have to clean extractor units and replace filters. Not just a matter of rolling your sleeves up and scrubbing, although this does come into it.
Most of the dirty work takes place out in the van, away from customers kitchen.

I clean the occasional oven and its hard work takes me about 1.40 to 2 hrs to do a good job I charge arround £35 to £45 depending on size, it is left spotless, I remove door glass and seals etc. soak most in a large buckett. would like a dipping tank but the only thing I know would work is costic soda and we all know those implications. how much do you charge and what do you put in the tank?
kind regards Phil
