moss on tarmac

what the best way to clean tarmac cover in thick moss?
i was thinking about a stiff brush and a chemical then a light spray with the hose! but don't no on what chemical?

Forget the chemical, powerwasher with fan jet have just done a massive courtyard in a hotel today. It brought it up a treat.

have yet to try gary's fan jet method - previously would have scraped the area with a self made scraper / bobcat loader sweeper  then sprayed the area with super mosstox, or jeyes fluid.
