Well done Mick.
Did you get them on regular cleans?
If you did, that's really good cos they usually want you to come when they're good and ready, by appointment.
Do a good job and they will usually recommend. Its all about trust in that area.
I would factor in parking and congestion though cos if you get quite a few, they cant all be done on weekends.

Mick dont get excited to quickly ,

you will most likely find they will want a time and date that suites them the first clean will normally be very smooth and you may get to clean all 7 in the same day but all the maintenance cleans could be problematic ,

they will mostly likely all need phone calls
they will most likely say not this time,or can you come at such and such time,
you may end up going to central london to clean 2 one day 2 the other , 1 the other hence reducing your hourly rate,

havnt got any customers in that particular post code but i do in other similar locations order values are less and still most were hard to manage had to let a load go! i much prefer a £15 all rounder then a £60 call for time and date, 7.15am dont be late then get a phone call at 6.50am when you are a mile away sorry can you leave it this time we have guests that arrived late last night customer :) lol

picking the work up in these areas is no problem but managing them and keeping them could be a pain but thats why they are easy to pick up! but keep your figers crossed thou and good luck.! let us know how the 2nd cleans get on those will be the most important if you keep over 50% by the 4th clean considering the order value i would say thats a very good result.

I do two customer's second houses in Belgravia and it's a nightmare parking wise. They all need pre arranged access at specific times during the week. If you can get through traffic then you'll be stuck finding somewhere to park. Both customers have got mansions here that I clean otherwise I would never go to London and do those.

Well done on picking up the work... But probably not the best idea telling the world on an open forum where there might be lots more well paid work to pick up!

I did have two jobs that paid really well nearby in Victoria but gave them up after a few months because of the utter nightmare of parking. I found the stress wasn't worth the money plus driving the few miles back to the East End could take 2 hours or more on a bad day.

Also, I think, next year Westminster City Council are planning on introducing 24/7 parking restrictions.
Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.

Update

Have built up 4 full days every 8 weeks now on these jobs(a weekend a month) doing 8-10 properties each day most are good as gold but you guys were right about them dictating when and what time etc but the recommendations I get make up for this. Have been through a lot off messers and 1 off's but for the prices You can charge I don't care, in fact I had a phone call from a custy saying they want a 1 off so I said straight away I charge double for 1 off's, I asked what her address was and she said a neighbour of another I do in sw1 I didn't charge her double as was next to a regular £100 account but she insisted on paying it £200 . She has ended up an every 16 week customer now sohappy days.
This isn't a bragging post It has taken me near 10 months to get just a weekend a month in this area by hard Sunday canvassing. Just goes to show if you put the extra effort in at the beggining you can get the cream from the middle at the end.
I just wish my whole round could be this sort of work...just so hard to get and takes so long to build right.

Nice 1 Mick , hats off to you mate , this business is simple if you are prepared to work hard and have a "can do" and not a "you'll be lucky" attitude. You have gone that extra mile and put in the leg work that most couldnt be bothered to do and your hard work has paid off. True that rich people who live in Million pound + properties are a pain in the ass but it really is a numbers game as you have found out. The good news is that the decent customers you have found in that neck of the woods wil never cancel the window cleaner cos they are feeling the pinch so they will be customers for the long term that you will have for as long as you want them.

Well done Mick.

you have obviously put in the time and effort to provide a good service. Now you have the trust of this type of client, you will always have these jobs (till they move to the Bahamas) and they will continue to recommend you.

Good work Mick, it might be worth you trying a slightly different approach.  How about charging up front with a cancellation fee etc?  Or you tell them what Sunday you will be visiting and if they cancel or you can't get in then charge them a nominal fee to keep them on the books?

Just a thought, a brave one at that but it might do you well to lay down the law politely.

Top knocking anyhow  ;)

well done mick,

yea the dictating is so anoying but its funny how the first clean is so smooth you could turn up at 3am and what i always do with these so called regulars basically any first clean in a london area is turn up at 6.00 am the reason why is i know its a 50% chance that its a one off so i earn money when i normally coudlnt i turn them into commercial its brilliant then hit the normal round:)

then i explain your 2nd cleans are between 8.45 and 4.45 if you are satisfied
feel free to nick my masterfull idea :)

A lot of the window cleaners work from a trolley or trailer and have somebody who drives around in the van just to keep it moving and out of the way.
Its good work but you have to modify your working practices to fit the requirements. These sort of people expect appointments.
