oreck xl pro
« on: November 04, 2005, 03:18:22 pm »
hi all,
anyone know anything about this vacuum, and how does it compare to the sebo dart?

Hi

Absolutley no comparison, the sebo is a far superior machine power wise, the only advantage to the oreck, would be the fact that it is very light.

Hope this helps

Best regards Nick

Sorry Nick but I can't see how you can make such a statement, have you done a side by side comparrison ( have you actually seen the XL pro? )

here it is

I've used the XL and found it to be a very good vacuum, to say

'Absolutley no comparison '

is a totally unfounded statement

You don't sell Sebos by any chance ::) ::)

I've owned a number of sebos ( but not the dart) and they are a competent vacuum cleaner

Although the Dart is an up-dated design its primary motors are nearly the same as the Sebo BS46 ( the BS46 has a 200w brush motor where the Dart has a less powerfull 175w, but the 46 is wider so needs the extra power)

I hav'nt used them side by side but when demoing the XL it seemed like a good machine.

I must say though if I was buying one of them I would chose the Sebo purely because it is a more proven machine and the spares & bags are readily available, If I could be guarenteed back-up from Oreck Uk  I would chose the XL.

Hi Red carpet

I parked up in Norwood Rd, EN8 on Wed morning about 9:15am and your van was opposite to where I visited a house. It was a small white van with red sign writing - red carpet vip cleaning or something. I recognised it not only because it was a carpet & upholstery cleaning van, but because I saw your logo's on this site and remembered!

Did you not notice the sign written Renault Trafic? you must have had to sort of squeeze through as opposed to just driving in at normal speed. From what I could tell your van looked ok to me! and yes I do work round that way! Good to see a fellow cleaner though!

p.s. I'll be back at that address on 16th - if your about give me a knock - just follow the noise!

Red, did'nt see your question, I would chose the Oreck becuase I like the idea of 2 vacuum tubes, on my Sebo the pipe always got blocked, also its quite a radical design and I think it would impress customers.

i have to agree on the design, thats what impressed me i feel it looks a lot more impresive than the sebos, but i suppose looks aint everything the thing that concerns me is this hepa filter buisness.

anyone know if this is really needed?
and is this hypo allergenic thing on the oreck anything like it?

Hi Daniel

Im not really local! I used to be in a franchise and worked that way. I dont use any leaflet distribution company at the moment but Im glad you told me about letterbox cos I was thinking of getting a company to do them.

When you say they were useless, how many did you send out and what (if any) response did you get?......be interesting to know.
