Been preparing for winter Today
« on: October 13, 2011, 05:47:51 pm »
Today I have spent the day preparing for winter.

I have a DIY van mount system Or Did have ;D

i have removed my 40/40 and pre filters from the van and mounted them on a sack barrow bought from
flea bay. for £24 now i can just wheel it in the house.

I also added a booster pump as my dad had it laying around in the shed so why not it was free.

Glad I did cos now I am producing water much quicker and with a lower TDS usually my TDS from the R/O is around 25-30 mostly 28 now I have had it down to as low as 16.

All I need now is a 11 ltr DI vessel and i will mount it on the left of the trolley at the bottom next to the pump.

all I need to now is insulate the tank shouldn't be to bad as i have split my van into 2 sections anyway tank side with storage above tank and rear working side. so a bit of lagging here and there and i'm done.

have a look at my trolley http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcQDylDNnb8

Let me know what you think

Ive been preparing for winter as well,  all summer long Ive been out late gathering nuts and burying them in secret places around my garden and buying lots of tinned food and stored it under the stairs.

Ive chopped down my garden fence for fire wood and next doors tree

gonna buy a can opener and a big box of matches tomorrow and nail my letterbox shut

should do me until spring

my dad spent 8 months in hospital paralysed back in 2006 when he came out of hospital he started to make these and other things as it gave him something to do during the day and was good physiotherapy for him.

well i have had the 40/40 and the pre filters for quite some time but they are available at gaps water treatment for around £500

http://www.gapswater.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?REFPAGE=http%3a%2f%2fwww%2egapswater%2eco%2euk%2facatalog%2fwindow_cleaning_water_treatment%2ehtml&WD=40&PN=copy_of_Reverse_osmosis_kits%2ehtml%23a1104#a1104

trolley £24

pump probably about £150

so under £700 all in but it probably didn't cost me that much as i shopped around when i originally when i bought my R/O i bought the housing and pre filters second hand and just bought new filters/membrane i think it all stands me in at about £400 but my pump was free not bad though they have similar here

http://www.cleaningspot.co.uk/acatalog/Trolley_with_RO_DI_filters.html

£3000 the cheapest pumped one
