helping other windys
« on: October 13, 2011, 03:47:54 pm »
my brothers friend asked me would i clean his windows on an estate i dont have any work on.he asked me a few weeks ago.anyhow i thought id nip up there today and i bumped into 2 guys who clean most of the estate.they have just bought a 500L brodex system with poles(hydras).

so i thought id stop for a chat and ended up giving them  this house to clean as i really dont think its worth cleaning cos they clean most of the estate.

i thought id get my SLX 25footer out to show them.they d never heard of gardiners!they couldnt believe how light my pole was compared to the hydras!

also he didnt know what he was gonna do on freezing nights.brodex sold them an RO as well even though a DI only system would have been sufficient.so i told him to get an oil filled rad and a couple of aquarium heaters to drop in the tank lid.

they seemed like decent guys.thats my good deed for the day!!made me feel good!! ;) ;D ;D ;D

any of you guys do the same sometimes?

best wishes to you all

Ive helped out a few window cleaners and if you get chatting to some its good to swap ideas and compare equipment.

I said it before that window cleaners should be like taxi drivers and help each other out,  after all we are all out in the same weather,  we all have those moaning types of custies and weve all had our good and bad days alike.

you ask any window cleaner you bump into and tell them youve had a crap day and they will know exactly what you mean,   try and tell that to a none window cleaner and they havent got a scooby do what your on about  :D

sometimes it can be a lonesome time in our job so always good to chat to a fellow windy

I have contact with a few local lads and there's a few I wouldn't help either, had work canvassed for some local lads but only in areas I  don't work, passed work onto them when had enquires, helped with systems, lent them items, done work with some when workers have been off etc, also let my lad work with one every now and again to help them catch up, think it's good too help out.

Good on you Daz.

There are around 6 windys in my surrounding areas and we all get on really well (even go for pints together)

If there a job come up on a road I dont work, then I pass it on to a windy on that road.
This way we all have fairly compact and well priced rounds.

I would also like to say, there is one exception....... there is a local windy who  would pinch anything he could of any other windy :-[

But suffice to say, we are all fairly full and he has bugger all work ???
Why oh Why did he spell my name as bod & not bob on my wedding invites.
