Question to Brodex on their stance towards Hot systems
« on: October 12, 2011, 12:55:44 pm »
*I do not wish this topic to turn into an anti Brodex one, if you have a problem with Brodex, I suggest you contact them directly. This is merely to find out if Brodex has found additional facts about hot pure water and is therefore now selling hot systems.*

Some time ago, this was on your website.

Quote
Hot or Cold ?
Is Hot water the best for cleaning?

You do not wash the dishes at home with cold water do you? Nor do you wash the dishes at home without detergent therefore it is not the hot water alone that clean them. Brodex have spent 1000’s of pounds researching the cleaning power of pure water and have concluded that it is the structure of the pure water, it’s self that does the cleaning not the temperature of the water, this has little effect.

In 2007 a leading resin supplier warned the industry that Hot de-ionised water could actually be corrosive and detrimental to some framework because oxygen will leave the water at high temperatures resulting in a higher concentration of dissolved carbon dioxide which increase it’s acidity. Brodex advice in stubborn dirt scenarios is to either pre-treat with detergent or double clean to avoid costly law suits due to damage.

REASONS NOT TO USE HOT WATER
• Can crack the glass
• Unnecessarily high running costs
• Extremely high initial outlay
• Increase leaks on machines
• Increases the corrosiveness of the
water
• Is an expensive gimmick

Now that you do offer hot water systems, can you elaborate why Brodex sells these now? Has Brodex spent time and money into research resulting in additional facts, or contradicting the previous results claimed by the leading resin supplier?

I know personally that tests have shown that the PH level of hot pure water has not changed from cold pure water. Both PH levels were at 6. Are there additional factors or changes in the molecular properties of hot pure water that increase the corrosiveness as apposed to cold?

How does Brodex now feel about the reasons not to use hot pure water as listed above. Do the systems come with a disclaimer or are these actively marketed as the next best thing for water fed pole systems. From the page listed below It seems like a complete 180 degree turn towards hot systems, and that Brodex is now marketing it as a revolutionizing step in your business.

Again, this is not to question Brodex motive or how they conduct their business. Purely interested if their views have changed and why.

Hi Tim,

Suppliers/advertisers are not allowed to post on the forum regarding questions such as this, if we allowed all advertisers to do so you could imagine what it would be like on here!

I strongly suggest you contact Brodex directly with your question.

Thanks for the understanding from both parties.
