NCCA/IICRC and Prochem courses are all good. I've done all three, and would say do the Prochem course first, as there is a bit more hands on and practical demo's.
If you have a look on e-bay regularly you may spot a Prochem training course voucher up for grabs for 50 odd quid, or less if you're lucky. Just put 'Prochem' in the search box. This will get you a one day course. Buy
two, and you can use them for the 2 day course (better), for prob' less than 100 quid. The cost of a 2 day course bought direct from Prochem would cost you almost £225 inc VAT.
The reason you see them on e-bay from time to time is because Prochem give away a one day course voucher when you buy a new machine, so people that don't need the training just sell it on e-bay. Prochem know this happens and don't mind. They are very accommodating.
Don't forget though that the Prochem 2 day course is Carpet only (not Upholstery) but Carpet and Upholstery together over two days (NCCA) is a lot to take in for a newbie.
