Over to the wet side!!! (well for a week)
« on: October 08, 2011, 10:09:04 am »
Hi Guys

Well, got the Envirodri in for a service on monday and they didn't have a back up to use, so had to venture over to the wet side.  ::)

Now, I know I'll need serious therapy when the week is over but I'll try and stay strong and not crumble ;D

It feels like I'm being unfaithful, forced over to the wet side!

Although i did do a feaces job yesterday with the karcher I've rented, came up ok.

At least i can understand the bad back thing, mine was killing me after 2 hors bent over (oo 'er)

Nothing quite like a good pro machine is there, and that machine is nothing like one. ;)

Hi

Dave, couldn't care less mate, it did the job and earn't me £150 p/h (2 hour job)  ;D

Rented it from plant hire at £47 for the week while my envirodri is being repaired, can't hire a prochem and can't get a prochem 2000 or whatever up 6 flights of Brighton flats stairs, so a little karcher will earn me nicely thanks.

Two hours to clean up some shyte?? and £150 per hour!  :-\  I am moving to Brighton! I'd do back flips in the shyte all day long for £150 an hour.

Seriously tho, ya cant clean a carpet well with a Puzzi. I have tried it myself! I am a fit, 28 year old and quite strong and I had a hell of a time when I tried using one once! There just is no power in the suction or the spray! and that crap wand they give you! There's no weight to it! If you press down on it you feel the plastic "flexing".

No wonder your back was sore at the end of the day Martin.

Do you have HSS hire down where you are? Last time I checked you can hire a large exraction machine from them. Looks similar to a Prochem SteamPro, but i was just glancing didn't see what make it was.

Hi Martin

Hiring a Karcher Puzzi is hardly professional carpet cleaning, it's just doing what any member of the public can.

Would'nt you be better getting another Envirodri and having a back up to your dry carpet cleaning.

Cheers

The larger machines usually have to be ordered in by the HSS Branch

Hi

Yeah, it's not the best but it did the job, i will try and post pics if it will let me?

I really had to push on it  and use hot water as of course there is no heating tank, and as i'm 6'3'' I did have a stiff back after 2 hours bent over.

HSS didn't have any machines in so i had to go elsewhere and needed it there and then.

I charged that much as it comes under trauma cleaning and I won't do it cheap, got another normal carpet tuesday and for that charging £60

Regards

Hi

Well the Envirodri is as tough as nails, only my second service in 8 years so to have a back up envirodri machine wouldn't be cost effective really.

Yep, they can but not many seem to do it, they'd rather get the rug doctor. At the end of the day it did the job, earn't well.

Martin, how do you clean the average say pub, or night club, café etc.?
I find HWE method `must have`and can`t do without one,even
A Karcher Puzzi is better than nothing.

Hi

Well, for a pub or Resurant I would actually borrow a mate machine with equipment.

I have done in the past when I had to do an area between the Kitchen & bar, I had already pre sprayed it and dragged handfuls of grease out but of course my sponges stuck to it, so borrowed his Cc machine (a prochem) and did it with that, but I have done a pub with the Envirodri and it came up great.
