Equipment Hire
« on: October 31, 2005, 02:07:32 pm »
Hi everyone,
I have to quote for the scrubbing back and resealing of a sports hall floor.
The area totals approx 1,000 sq metres and I am considering the hire of a reasonably sized scrubber dryer to reduce the time I spend on the prep work.......
When you stand in a corner of a large sports hall with your 17 inch rotary machine fitted with a black pad, it seems a hell of a long way to the other end :-[
I have done the job before and it took forever as you need to mop on the stripper, scrub with black pad, vacuum extract slurry, dry floor, cut back with discs all before applying the new sealer... :-\
So the question is, (at last) does anyone know of a reliable eqipment hire company, perhaps in the Essex, Cambs, Herts area ?
The job is to done 2/3 days before Christmas.

Many thanks in anticipation

Thanks Martin,
I must admit I was a bit hesitant about using the national hire companies through previous bad experiences..... We were responsible for cleaning up after an all night College ball and had to tidy up the outside the venue. :-\
I ordered two 'BillyGoat' litter collectors from HSS Hire to be delivered on the friday evening. At the 11th hour the driver arrived with two........LEAF BLOWERS !!  >:( >:(
I was dead chuffed :o so was he coz he had two drive miles to get what I asked for....back he came with two..... Billy Goats as ordered  :) and couldn't wait to get away. Just show me the basics say's I, like how to start them  :P You guessed it, one wouldn't start  :-[ Nearly gave himself a Connery trying though. :o and so it went on. Got the job done in the end and HSS charged me next to nothing for the aggro so fair do's to them.
I will try the company you mention......now I wonder if they pickup on christmas day ;)

I have always had good experiences with HSS. They normaly have straight forward manuals to go with the machines.

My experince with local  hire companys however is of machines that are unreliable and old ( like the dehumidifiyer that had no fuse in its plug)
