Newspaper Advert
« on: September 26, 2011, 11:45:01 am »
Moved into a new area recently and enquired about a newspaper advert to bring in the work. Got quoted £120 for 3 weeks for a 24 word advert. Anyone else think newspapers are in dreamland these days? I wouldn't mind if it guaranteed you work and people would rather internet search these days anyway.
I'll stick to the good old canvassing for now  :)

For 120 beer coupons mate, I'd give it a go if you don't like knocking. Personally, I prefer leaflet then knocking.

Do you have Friday Ad in your area might be worth a look lot cheaper than what you have been quoted. I would be looking at a 3 month advert run in bold print, takes a while for the custys to get the message. The longer you leave the ad in the better,

might be better off using the local ad books mate.

im sure you must get them in the area. we used one for a while at £17 per month and we had to take it out for a while as had too much on.

If your going ROP (Run of Paper) you can probably ring in on deadline and say what you are prepared to offer with newspaper advertising you need to have a small advert and consistency.  So classified would be the best, sure you can negotiate a price.  Rule of thumb for copy writing is the following, hope it helps.  If your going to do it OP go for classified and ask what they can do dont do ROP.

Sure they will be open to negotiate a price.

A small 5 X 1 col will suit

A attention
I interest
D desire
C conviction
A action line.
