Wouldnt it make more sense to get people to follow you who arent in the same game ?  who you want to become customers ??

Am on twitter myself, but only follow those who i  feel im interested in what they have to say. I'd get sick of reading tweets of a window cleaner who i dont know & im not interested in what they do as im doing the same ... would just clog up the actual tweets i want to read

If everyone on here joined you on twitter, what would be the advantage to you or them? What do you expect twitter to do for your business? Have you joined twitter because you think that's the way forward for your business?

Twitter is a good way to promote your business .... but having a load of other window cleaners following you isnt.

I suspect he just wants alot of followers to make it seem like people have a interest in his business so that more people follow him (or her)

Froggy, have you ever heard of anyone getting any advantage out of twitter? Can't see it really.

A recent study by the Institute of Small Businesses (now called ISBE) found that twitter is, by and large, of absolutely no use or benifit what so ever to a one man/small business.

It amazes me that they needed to do research to work that one out.

Yes i have heard of people getting work through twitter....

My wife has picked a quite a few jobs up through twitter & facebook. I am on twitter, but am yet to use it propperly.

A friend of mine in Ross uses twitter and has quite a few follower there (200+)
