I was told today that the same company had canvassed a village near to me. This is the conversation-

Them "Hello im xxxxxx from xxxxxxxx would you be interested in a regular window cleaning service ?

My brother "No thanks ive already got a regular window cleaner" (me).

Them "Well we can beat that price by a pound"

My brother "No thanks, goodbye"

This is a quote from themselves -

Quote
Under cutting
CSWC have no intention to undercut other cleaners but to look for opportunities to be able to deliver a quality service at a competitive and fair price.

I can tell you now, other window cleaners in that same village are not happy !

None of my customers have been approached yet in Grantham - however, I also cover a couple of towns about 20 miles from here and several have been canvassed by a rival firm saying they will undercut me, and by several pounds in some cases (£17.50 house - custy was told they could do it for £11)
Thankfully only lost a few customers and they were the most recent ones so wouldnt expect any loyalty !!

They won't be doing that, there is a lot of proof out there now. unfortuantly for them they seem to have not noticed window cleaners in areas tend to be friendly and talk to each other.

let em sue!!! its only libel if its not true ;D
the "we will sue you" stuff only kicked off cos some muppet misread and /or misinterpreted one of my posts about them canvassing the customers of wc ers on their training courses....which they have done, but not by design just by coincidence

it would be refreshing if they just dropped all the pretence about not undercutting and just put their hands up though, just said this is how we intend to expand our business deal with it

dont get me wrong i would still think they were C****
but at least they would be honest C****

But surely they wont do that!! they need other w/cers to go on their courses. Would you go on a course run by someone who KNOWINGLY undercuts?

I couldn't give a toss, they are running a business not a charity or friends society, and if they ever run a course in Scotland I would go, but they won't, deary me whether you are one man or 100 men outfits, you are running a business and you have to deal with competition, you can't rig pricing it is illegal, it is a free market and they can do whatever price they like. doesn't feel nice when it happens to you but that is life :(

I will dig for cover now ;D

i did actually do one day of their three day course(before all this undercutting/aggressive marketing thing kicked off
i jacked it in because i thought it was not much use to a sole trader
more geared up for health and safety
for employees and employers not one man bands
but to answer your question.....NO i would not
all this course funding dries up soon tho gov cuts and all that
