The end of civilisation as we know it
« on: September 20, 2011, 03:32:41 pm »
Did a job today for a little old lady in a sheltered bungalow.
As always it was rammed with furniture and nick knacks but she was a nice old lady and I don`t mind moving stuff for them.
SHOCK HORROR  she did not make me a cup of tea :o
Normally they force feed you tea and biscuits every 10 minutes but not even a sniff today.
As I do not mind cold tea I often let it sit and take a slurp now and again but this worries them and they always offer to make a " fresh " cup.
A nice little old lady not making tea, what is this country coming to. ;D

You arrive at a job first thing they offer is a cup of tea or coffee

I prefer mine when I have lost  a bit of sweat

I do find that the younger ones ie what used to be called yuppies do not offer anything

I'v gone from everyone in the house making coffee for themselves except me (and being ignored) to the comparison of.....

Going to Marbury hall in Cheshire...tea and buscuits served at 9.45. Dinner served at 12.45....dining room shutters opened for me to look at the village whilst my dinner served on a tray by the lady herself (used to be the high sheriff of Cheshire) an awe inspiring woman....I wish she were my mother! ;D

I don't either, I find I'm too hot just doing the work - and like you I'm all caffeine'd up before I begin!
