TRy spraying with silicon spray and pushing the fitting together a few times. The male fitting also rusts inside and the rust jams the female part.

Had the same problem with last 2 from Varitech though 8mm tail - current one is starting to play up after only 3 weeks use.

Think there is a bad batch personally.

hi
i used to use the rectus 21 ( ez snap) type fittings , but changed to rectus 26 brass fittings , far superior, better flow through fitting , and leak free, even after 6mths of hard use.

Yes, I had this problem with the last one from gardiners about 3 weeks ago (a 6mm one). The very first time I disconnected the water didn't stop which wasn't a good sign and it carried on that way.

The problem resolved itself when the pressure in the reel built up one day and I obviously hadn't tightened the o clip enough. The fitting shot down the garden and into the hedge never to be seen again.

Last batch i bought from varitech were not their usual quality named brand they sell and were basically pants!! Wont be buying them there again for microbore connections, will go elsewhere for them now as always relied on quality fittings.

Could buy pants version off ebay for a fraction of the price with the same pants quality.

Try switching to rectus 19 or 26,.. they're bigger but the last much longer & don't leak.
