Leaflet ideas
« on: September 01, 2011, 12:46:57 am »
Pinch, punch!

I am going to make some new leaflets. Up until now my leaflet response rate has been around 1 in 75 to 1 in every 100 dropped. From what I read months ago this seems to be about right I think. I would like to know whether anyone here has a better success rate with their leaflets and if you could share with me some of your ideas and perhaps upload some of your work?

Also, all my leaflets have only ever been photocopies at A6 size (quarter A4) as I've been reluctant to get full colour ones printed on mass for fear of my contact details changing as I may be moving home soon. Do you think coloured leaflets get a greater response? Which company provides good coloured leaflets?

Cheers.

I have always used colour - printed my own in the early days now just order 5k glossy - the only difference in response is now they are usually better/higher priced properties...

another leaflet style used on here is a mock up of royal mails parcels ticket but with window cleaning services - great idea and i believe it generates good interest altho i didn't get around to using them myself.

there is a guy on here reckons he gets something like 3 to 5% return on his leaflets but the design and layout are a trade secret   ::)

I Normaly get 10000 double sided a6. Works out really well seeing that there's only a  £10 difference between 5000 and 10000

Also helps that I'm a designer by trade. Could desgin some for a fee ;)

I find better results using a letter in an envelope. 40 letters = £600 worth of gutter cleaning work last year and same amount of letters wednesday = £280 so far.

Would you be able to give me an idea of what you put in your letter? Or perhaps you could email a copy to me? I have thought about printing letters before but was discouraged by several on the forum saying it was a waste of time.

Make some notes and email me. What are you after Window Cleaning or gutter cleaning. What method, how long in business, who works with you, anything that makes you stand out area postcode so I can google the areas, type of houses you want or have access to etc.

Put them down in an email and I will draft you something. First though try it for yourself and then I will help you improve it.

The beauty of letters is that they can be printed easily and specialised for each area.

Leaflet marketing is one strange animal .
I have dropped the same design in 4 different area and got four different results. It is really knowing your target market and what would appeal to them and make a impact, grab there attention.

Do you hand deliver? If not then how do you get the addresses?

Stuart, I take it you use a plain envelope and hand deliver rather than add addresses to each one?

This has grabbed my interest - would it be possible to have a look at a sample letter?

Thanks, Mike
