flow controller working again for now!!

i just dont understand these digital controllers!!(pure freedom one)its calibrated to 45.it started working again today.flow is on 70.working fine!
the only thing is when i turn the water off then on again ( in between windows) sometimes i get a surge of flow for around 10 seconds then its goes back to the steady flow.i use 70m of 6mm microbore.
anyway i did 10am-530pm and still came home with a quarter of a tank(350L TANK)!most work 100% WFP with the odd ground floor trad.
any ideas what the problem could be?
thanks in advance guys!
regards

Try playing with the calibration. Did you do an auto cal? I have found that sometimes that manually adjusting the cal works better than the auto cal. I have had the same problem as you, the serge culd be because the pump hasn't actually cut off between windows because the cal is set to high, therefore building up pressure in the system resulting in a fast jet of water coming out of the brush head.

The pressure cut off is set too high, thus the build up of pressure before it cuts out & this is the splurge which you get on release.
The problem is you have 6mm hose, so you require more pressure to push water through this. You have to find the balance between cut off & retaining enough pressure for your hose. You might have to put up with a splurge using 6mm hose though.

A hammer should sort this problem. Had one crontroler turn it self on during the night, 650l of water to mop up down the yard at 7am.... Great start to the day

dazmond do you have a pressure switch fitted to your pump , i am still going to use my trolley for the 2-3 wks as my funds are depleted at the mo , but if i plug my trolley (which does'nt have a pressure switch fitted) into tank , when i turn the water of with tap on hose when away from pickup will i damage the pump .thanks mike

Some good advice here Certainly sounds like lee, wimpoclean and Jed are on the money try reducing the Calibration a little. with the calibration high there will be a delay between water off and flow stopping of a few seconds.

Once you have found the "balance", you might find that in winter you have to higher the cut off setting a little, as all the hoses have less flex and so absorb less pressure- resulting in the cut off activating sooner than in warmer weather.

Before you start adjusting the calibration, I would turn the flow down. I have mine set at 35 and it rinses well (pure freedow recommend around 35). Ive had mine on 60 before and found the water splashing everywere
Give it a try .....you never know.
