can some one please tell me if i am right i have just be on to gardiners website
and it looks like the brushes now come with no sockets if you want one then you have to pay extra £2 think thats a bit over the top when they come as standard before.

ok if you are buying a new carbon goosenecks then that's fine but its not fair if your using the old type and have to pay more (don't you think)

they stock different types of sockets,  just take one of a old brush,

ok but my point was we are paying more for this stuff and we are getting less for our money. why don't they include it like it used to be and then if you want anything different you pay for it in my eyes thats a lot fairer than the way it is now

When Gardiners started to sell the brushes without a socket as standard, they also reduced the prices of each brush accordingly. So, you are not paying any more or less than before but you have a choice of two sockets or none at all.

thanks for that mate but they don't list the standard sockets any more only the 90 from the drop down menu unless you buy them separately. so if i want to order one with a standard socket on there website how would i do that without ringing them cheers dave

I'm guessing it's because the normal angled sockets are bigger than the 90 degree ones & thus protrude a little beyond the edges of the Xtreme brush stock. However, I personally don't like the 90 degree angle to brush & I use the normal angle sockets on all my Xtremes.

You can buy the angled socket separate on their website though (just remember to buy two screws too if you don't have any)

As has been correctly stated all brushes now come with the choice of being ordered without sockets. The decision to do this was to offer the greatest choice to buyers and also prevent unwanted items being paid for. When we made this change we also reduced each brush price by the appropriate amount. Therefore those that buy a brush with a socket fitted pay exactly the same as before. Whereas those who already have a socket from an older brush or who use the new carbon goosenecks that do not require a socket do not have to pay for something they will not be using.

It is only the Xtreme brush range that have the choice of just a 90° socket - this is due to the narrow design of the stock. All other brushes including the Sill brush have the choice of both the 90° socket and the angled socket.

If required you can still fit an angled socket, but you would need to contact the Office to ask for this to be done for you before sending the brush out.
