Second hand TM and van for sale???
« on: August 27, 2011, 08:06:27 pm »
Just wondering if any one has or knows of any used TM's and van set ups for sale?
If not can any one tell me how much I should expect to pay for a decent set up?

Thanks for your help :)

Speak to John Gotts at Hydramaster, they sometimes get 2nd hand truckmount set ups in, probably looking anything between £5000 and £10000

Was going to say same as Billy - they've got one on their website for 10k at the moment. We got ours off ebay, not really knowing what we were buying, its up to scratch now but its cost us a few quid to get here. If you do buy second hand its probably better to buy off someone on here as ebay you could be being sold anything. Woodbridge do some lower price range machines but cant vouch for what they are like although I'm sure someone on here could,

I see Alltec are still trying to flog that Blueline in the Citroen van on their site yet.

Ridiculous price - that's why it hasn't sold

Yes that's the one I saw. I thought it was a bit pricy (with my very limited knowledge)
Thats why asked.

I was interested in that alltec one but it was over priced by at least £5k.
Finding a good secondhand TM is a game of patience. Try and buy one that is in service and not on eBay, but if you must go and see it working, preferably on a job.

Hi may have a p/x Prochem Blazer coming in with sub mount tank, if you are interested could fit it in a 2006 140ps dci Renault Trafic - depends upon what budget you have in mind, if you are interested give me a ring 07734 911633, cheers Ian

Buy it off a dealer with history of looking after and servicing truckmounts, in my experience there are lots of DIY cleaners with delusions of grandeur and then we have to sort out the mess.

Hi Ian,
Thanks for that!

I don't really know what our budget is yet, we are just looking at options.
The general feeling from this forum seems to be that as a start up we should start of with a porty..? But I don't like waisting time (or money ) messing around when I know where I'm aiming to be!
We already have a well established domestic leaning biz with 130 regular customers (potential cc customers)  and are aiming to set up the carpet cleaning a separate biz -not just an add on.
However...we only want to fill 3 days per week with cc as I need hubby's help with running the DC biz.
lots of things to consider: financing- do we want to spend lots before really testing cc out?, and can we make a good return on investment with just 3 days per week worked?
and lack of experience with the machines- should we spend time with a porty for a while to gain some confidence..???

Thanks to everyone that has given advice so far, we are hoping to get some tickets for the Capet cleaners carnival which looks like a start. :)

I would get a good portable, you won't lose too much time or money and when you do upgrade you will be in a much wiser position.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.
