Well, after a couple of years running up & down ladders, i have finally seen the light.

Im in the middle of striping out the van & replacing with 650ltr water tank & "2 man setup"

I always thought i would be a "die-hard" 'ladder-monkey' but bugger that when i can save time by using wfp.

currently only using D.I but im setting up a R.O sytem shortly so im going to get a 1000ltr 'holding tank' to fill the van with.

However, ladders are still going to have their place, until im proven otherwise. we have 4 rounds that i just cannot see being easier with WFP. These rounds are 50+ houses a day, and i reckon with WFP the amount of times the van would have to be moved would be inconceiveable.. so they stay on the 'ladder' round, for now.

get a back good bit of kit gets to the awkward jobs ive had one for the past few months well worth it i got  a 16ltr good job cos if you over fill its heavy iwas gonna get a 20ltr. saves a bit more time not having to reel hose in

hi ryan i was a trad only window cleaner for many years.also i never had a computer until 2 years ago!

wfp is a fantastic tool for cleaning windows,conny roofs,fascias etc but it doesnt come without its problems.

you will not be faster on lots of work for a good few months.you ll make mistakes and lose a few customers here and there.stick at it you ll get faster and more efficient as you gain experience.

as for being faster it is but its not twice as fast if your a good trad cleaner.you ll get between 20%-40% more work done a week than trad only depending on type of work being cleaned.some jobs you ll fly through them after the first few initial cleans.others you ll be faster trad.

i still use my ladders for the odd flat roof,hopping over a gate etc but most of the time they  stay on my roof rack.some work i trad the ground floors esp in tight spaces or if the windows are old wooden windows.it makes a nice change from constant poling.

you ll have days where you ll think you made a big mistake going wfp!im 15 months wfp and most days i love it!safer,faster and make more money.also ive picked up a fair amount of new work BECAUSE I USE WFP!!bigger jobs are easier and frames come up fantastic with pure water.


get the best, lightest,most rigid pole you can afford.i highly recommend the 25FT SLX.best pole for all my current work. it gets used on everything for ground floor to 3 storey.

everyone says that, until they get the hang of wfp then they wont do a shop front trad unless they have to.

you just wont want to bother getting up a ladder when you can get your shiny slx on it. i have an anylized this with a stop watch, moving the van is a hassle, setting the hoses up and reeling in is also a hassle. if you get slick at it you will start to outstrip the ladder.

plus all the benefits clean frames and sills, you can get windows you wouldnt ever get with a ladder (e.g. above connie roof)

and the best benefit you are not going to loose all you own in fines and compensation when your hoppo falls 20 feet on his head.

I'd been trad for 15 years. Saw the WFP video on you tube via BBC News and thought: "That'll Never Work!"
Tried it and found that it actually worked very well.
Never looked back.
