couple questions... how many leaflets are you putting out per week and how are you delivering them personally or getting sum1 to do the dirty work ?

Some people put out thousands a week, some people don't put out any.
Some people deliver them themselves, some people get others to do it for them.

Hope that helps.

I think the answer depends on your personal circumstance

If you have time and motivation do it yourself

Do some yourself and employ help

Distribute through Free newspapers etc

Pay more use post office

Hi Jamie

To get the best response you need to deliver to the same area's every 4 - 6 weeks and think in terms of 1,000's.  Response rates will vary and you will find all sorts of answers to this on the search function on this forum, but from my experience in this business and other businesses that i have been envolved in the response rate will be around 0.3% (ie 3 per thousand) in the short term.  Although I have had replies months after a leaflet was delivered.

If you get someone else to deliver the leaflets for you the respone rates will be less.  I try to leaflet when I can roughly 2K to 3k per month and also use a local distribution company who i trust who deliver 4,500 for me at a time, best response from this was 8 bookings :), worst 1 :(

Like most on here I should imagine you can't just rely on leaflets but several different forms of marketing.

is that 8 bookings from 4500 ?

finding it hard to work all day then go out and deliver 5000 flyers per month... things are picking up well but need to get sum1 else to deliver the flyers for me think there is too much work in it

as everyone on hear prob would agree the hard part of cc is doing work and chasing it at the same

if you were on the dole and desperate for money, and taking into consideration that it takes roughly on average 1 hour to deliver 100 leaflets, (i know this will be disputed but i'm no slouch and i can get 120 out on a semi estate with a 2 car length driveway) so 100 is a good average unless your hitting terraces, (good luck with that) ;D

so back to it....

how much would you charge if your were on the dole and desperate for work to deliver 1000 leaflets for me?

£40?
£60?

these big companies charge £30 to £40 per 1000 and make money, yeah right, read the small print then devide by 2.

i did a big leaflet drop with a company round here, think it 9k leaflets, and heres the interesting bit.
for £40 per 1000, they not only delivered all 9k, (solus) they even had time to knock on 40 doors to get signatures. and heres the even more interesting bit, i got 5 jobs from the whole campaign and yes you guessed it, 3 of them jobs were on the list of signatures, doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out whats going on when the week before i delivered 1000 leaflets and got 3 jobs from it. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

thats my 2 penneth worth on the subject.

derek west

its all about trust... business is about trust

think getting sum1 on your own and paying them to put them out would be better than paying a company after all the company is only a middle man between you and there employee

you could advertise on gumtree and have sum1
