help - bubbles in the carpet
« on: August 23, 2011, 09:52:38 pm »
Got a problem which is driving me foamy !! One of the places we clean is a Toy Shop, and toy shops being toy shops they like to demonstrate their toys. One is a Bubble making machine, which is quite impressive, however the solution from the bubbles is proving a bit of a pain at getting out of the carpet. If we extract normally the result is gallons of foam in the tank, which we handle with defoamer, but when it dries its still there!!! Any ideas on how to remove the solution? Have tried scraping first but no joy. Is there a soap killer out there !!

Thanks bob g

mix some water and defoamer in a sprayer and apply to the carpet prior to extracting.

Mark - thanks, will try that, thinking that if used with a cold water extraction might go somewhere to removing the stuff.

No way - perhaps 5 years !!! I dont talk much - loads of years in the jungle ?? To be honest I normally browse and digest, learn and apply - Adapt and overcome. This site contains mountains of useful information so honestly I normally find my answers without asking a question - Bob g

You could be there for weeks on end trying to get all that out.
Remember how concentrated that bubble solution you used to make up as a kid or for your kids to make bubbles was.
Now you have a machine doing it almost at a commercial rate, which comes down to earth (carpet) and soaks in.
I hope you've explained this to them and how time consuming and price consuming it is with defoamer.

Bob your post is a bit ambiguous... do you mean you're struggling to get the foamy stuff out of the carpet or out of the machine afterwards ???

(p.s. i'm going to look at that upholstery job tomorrow, thanks ;))
