Has anyone tried SPM and Pure Clean and could you make a comparison?

Well, i've tried both, but it was a long time ago that i tried pure clean, didn't get very good results to be honest so never tried it again, i've been using SPM quite a bit recently with some good results, but i just can't stop using powerburst!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pure clean is great on the right job, but obviously a lot dearer that powerburst to use in volume. Very often my first choice on wool mixtures and on some of our regular contracts does perform better that powerburst. It is difficult to explain when and helpers are unable to decide when and what sometimes.

I used it today for the first time on classroom carpets that i have been doing yearly for some time now.
I thought they looked the cleanest they have done  since i started cleaning them,
so it is either the spm, or the fact i now use a Maxx 470 compared to a smaller tm and a triple vac recoil.

It does seem expensive, however i havnt worked out what it costs per 4lts in h/force and coverage.

On whole i like it and will be trialing it on other different carpets.

isn't SPM a powdered M/S with an oxidiser added? so it will give better results in some case

if so then it would best to mix it hot to activate the oxidiser.... but discard when old

Mike I have been using SPM for a little over 12 mths now on furniture and carpets, used hot or cold it makes no difference to the cleaning power.

Dave  the instructions on WOC website say mix it hot. but that might be to help it dissolve,


 but on the list of things SMP does not include 'bleaches' are not listed  but on liquid M/s they do state that it doesn't include any bleaches so liquid states no bleaches.... but powered doesn't mention it

so my guess is SPM is similar to  pureclean & soluboost mixed

anyone got a data sheet for SPM?

Your barking up the right tree Mike, like all the MS's on the market they do need agitation to make them work better. As the the hot water your right it does help the mixing but left to go cold for a number of days make no difference to the cleaning power.

Seemingly you have to add the powder to the water, otherwise it can turn to paste, mixed some hot today, and found you have to give it a really good stir.

Haven't tried SPM yet but wasn't keen on Pure clean. Although it is on my list of things to give another try. Still have never found anything that even comes close to M power on Natural fibres. Tin hat firmly on head.

M Powers ok but i had a filthy wool berber today hit it with powerburst then acid rinse came up like new.

Pureclean is good for rinsing it has very low foaming properties, also its very good for spotting if you mix it with very hot water

Never liked pure clean. Keep reading these posts on how good it is, buy a tub, use it for a couple of jobs and then stick in the garage in disgust!

Isn't it strange how some people love a product yet others hate it.  Why does that happen, is it luck? 

I believe iIf a product gives you amazing results the first time you use it then you fall in love with it and forgive it when it doesn't perform properly on subsequent occasions.

However if it doesn't come up to scratch on that first clean.......it's rubbished, put in the back of the garage and forgotten about forever.........till someone mentions what wonderful results they have had with it and you get it out again.

For my it's bonneting!!!  I hear all these wonderful stories, so I get her out to give it another go...... and she poops on me again!!

I had exactly that with MPower. Read all the wonder stories of turning right manky carpets into almost new and thought "That's for me then I'll be able to dump all those other products and save weight in the van." Cow poo, I tried it cold, tried it hot, tried plenty of dwell, agitation, the lot and lost patience with it.
Strangely Pure Clean is now my first product to call on, which others can't figure out.

The one thing you can be sure of is that No One Product is the answer to everything even if the manufacturer says otherwise.
