I've tried several different adhesives, and that stuff really does stick like sh*t!!!

Awesome for glides, can't recommend highly enough ;)

Glide fixing tips:

Thoroughly clean your wand all around the contact area, and rough it up with some medium sandpaper which will increase the surface area and help the adhesive stick better (same as when fixing a puncture on a bike)

Before applying the adhesive, wipe the contact area with isopropyl alcohol to de-grease and give it a final clean

Get a roasting tin on your hob in the kitchen, put the glide in it covered in water and boil it for a couple of minutes.  Some glide/wand combo's won't really need much heat to get them on, but if I don't do this with one of my wands it won't go on at all!

Do a trial run with no adhesive to make sure it fits.  On my westpak I have to use a stanley knife to notch out for the strengthening bit in the middle.  Don't be afraid to trim the glide up, it needs to slot on to your wand perfectly otherwise it will rock backwards and forwards as the wand moves on the carpet, and break the adhesive bond, eventually losing air seal and becoming more of a liability than anything else!

When you're ready to go, give the glide another blast in the boiling water for a minute.  Put plenty of adhesive on the wand lips, nearest to the edge (it will get squidged back as the glide goes on).  Put some adhesive on the glide too, then pop her in place!

Use a wetted cloth (J-cloths work well) to smooth the adhesive all round the join between glide and wand.  Don't be tempted to over-work it, as long as you make sure it's all pushe in and you have a decent sized bead of adhesive round it.

If you have a portable, fill the 'ends' of the glide so it is fully air-tight.  With a TM leave the ends open to act as a vac relief, I have found if you fill them up the glide sticks a lot more.

Thoroughly wipe off all adhesive from the glide's contact area with the carpet, otherwise it won't glide over the carpet! (use solvent on a rag, something with d'limonene in it is good)

Leave at least 48 hours before you use it.  Remember you've got a big chunk of adhesive in there, it needs to fully cure before you use it otherwise you'll undo all your hard work.

Oh by the way you'll probably get covered in adhesive the first time you do this!!
