Letting Agents
« on: August 16, 2011, 02:37:45 pm »
Just been asked to clean staircase for letting agent took the bill in and drop the keys off,"this cannot be right"she pipes up "£50 for stairs and a hallway"

Her regular guy charges £25 for a  2 bedroom flat including stairs, when I asked why she didn't get him to do this job her reply "he's not very good and he cleaned those stairs last week"

If he cleaned those last week I'd ask for my money back "he only charged us a tenner hardly worth bothering about"

says it all really. when will they learn that choosing a decent price equates to a decent job. and therefore just as cheap in the long run, if not cheaper.

Lowest price for product is a good way to do business but lowest price for service isn't.
I have to laugh at the guy who lives on the corner of our street who did his wall a few months back. It's almost falling down. The bricks are held in by what looks like hard mud.

Obviously went for the cheapest tradesman. Idiot

Sounds  a mad business set up to work for that money.

Thankfully i dont need work from the agents as its all down to price in most cases

If you deal with the tenants and not the agents you don't have such a problem.

I have two letting agents on the books now. Had four jobs in a week off my new one (£150, £200, £200 and £260). Never moaned about the price once as they know they are getting a top job! Mind you they have all been student lets so not easy ones to do but the difference was astonishing!

Using some "enterprize" you could get 2 flights of stairs done for £10. ;D

they always say they have someone cheaper and they are never on time with both appointment and payment
