Best pre-spray for upholstery ?
« on: August 10, 2011, 01:30:17 pm »
I use prochems fabric restorer but sometimes it just doesnt cut the mustard.  Can anyone else recommend one that can be used as a general purpose upholstery pre-spray ?

Had some pretty impressive results with Chemspec DFC Heavy Duty Degreaser and Prochem Pureclean recently.

You git! I wanted to be the first to say ultrapac as that seems to be the first chemical name to appear under most requests for which is best. ;D
How can there be a best allrounder? It all depends on material, age, wear, type of dirt etc so you use which best gets the job done without having to 'blast' it to death.

Been using ultrapac for years on upholstery diluted 30 ml per litre hot water, been slated many times on here  with the taking a sledge hammer to crack a nut etc, but it makes the job easy and the results are fantastic, Especially on suites where the customers are heavy smokers its the nuts.
I do rate Fab Rest on problem areas such as head grease etc

thanks for the replies lads.

sorry I forgot to mention that when its an absolute minger i use ultrapac - but i was officially told by the prochem guys not to use this as it was too strong but unofficially they said pretest and then nuke.

I had to clean some chairs in a coffee shop yesterday that literally hadnt been cleaned in years.  They were caked in dirt, milk, pastries, coffee and were really disgusting.  Happy to say hot ultrapac mixed 50ml per litre with a shed load of agitation brought them up really clean.

For jobs that arent so bad I use fabric restorer but even on less trying jobs it appears to be naff.  At times I add some citrus gel to the restorer and that helps but i think i might need something else.

Where is the solutions MS available, also what is nemesis ?  Ive heard a lot about this but im not sure where its from or what it is.

Also lads, whats the best way to clean large amounts of chairs - 100 plus.  HWE seems like a lot of work and ive seen some guys use a shampoo or foam thats vacced off afterwards.  Can anyone shed any light on this please

thanks,

dan
