Are poles too expensive?

I am inthe process of buying a new 60ft carbon fibre pole, and it is costing me a fortune!

Are they overpriced, i think so after all they are only an extendable broom with a hose in the middle!

Has anyone tried to manufactor them, do you know the cost price?

I would like to custom build my own, but i have no idea of where to go to get them made, any suggestions?
