Anyone in the Crewe area?
« on: October 21, 2005, 10:45:48 am »
Is there anyone who operates in the Crewe area?

I have picked up this tiny little job that I normally wouldn't have bothered with but it came as part of a package with other things.

It's a communal hallway in a very small block of private flats. It's all carpeted and includes hall, landing and stairs. There are a few pictures on the wall so dusting etc. too.

I would be really struggling to find stuff to do if I spent more than half an hour there.

They only want it done once a week and I can let it go at £10.00 per clean i.e. £40.00 per month.

Anyone want to do it so I don't have to travel? I can't see me employing anyone for those few hours.

There is no access to the general public so we have keys to the front door.

No I didn't unfortunately but I'm quoting for a few more bits inCrewe next week so if they come off I can tag it on with one of them.

Hi gary, i would get the train, as I have a free pass,  daddy is the manager :-)

CMS,
If you do get anything in Crewe or Chester, or Shrewsbury for that matter, and you are unable to do it, I would be interested (if the price and hours were right of course)  :)

I'll bear that in mind. I might have a few nice pubs (posh restaurant type ones) coming up (one in Chester and two in Ellesmere Port).

Cheers.

Hi Cms,

I am absolutley flabagasted!!, there are so many people on this board that are looking for work, but when you post for some assistance they just don't come up trumps!!!

Yourself and Lisa 123 have recently posted ads to refer potential news customer and the response has been outstanding!!(NOT!!!!!).

You have been in this business much longer that  myself, is the industry and it's service falling by the wayside. Surely good customer service is a major factor into raising the profile of the industry.

CMS, you thoughts on this matter would be grateful recieved!!

thanx

I think that there may be a certain amount of apathy at the moment,  maybe the time of year

Hi chris,

There could be but surely if you are running your own business then you learn to manage it better.I mean it's going to pay for mortgages. xmas, bilss etc..

I know that I have been down in the dumps and really have felt like throwing the towel in, but we have to control out business, and not give this industry a bad name. After all we have all moaned about how other cowboy companies ruin our good businesses.

A little while ago I posted on the forum about work in Manchester.  I had a reasonable response and two of the people who replied got to give quotes.

My client has told me which one he gave the job too.

What annoyed me was I didn't even get a thank you from the person who got the work for giving him the contact.  Yes the contract was only a really tiny job (only about £160 a month) but at least a 'I got the job, thanks mate' would have been nice.
