Hi members,I`ve got 2 inside windows to do Friday morning
Inside that’s covered in what looks like the residue or glue
From the backing of cello tape or something.
I`m taking some WD40,white spirit and mentholated spirits
With me and a scaper and 0000 steel wool.
I know it`s gonna smell,but if none of the above dos`nt work
And in my experience in the past it has`nt what do ya recommend ?

just trad it - soap up the area well and give it a scrape - simple!!!!

sorry forgot to say! make sure the internal glass doesnt have a plastic film on it before using the scraper!

Before you go scraping and wire wooling just do as Martin has said and wet it up, it might come straight off, most will come of when wet, if not use whatever cloth you use to wipe the ledges and rub the glue with that, this works if the tape has not been on the glass for to long failing that I would use a scraper.

we once had to do 6 b&q stores in a week as they were having visits from head office etc ...

every window in each store had not been cleaned for 2 years and had used carpet tape to keep the posters up, a total nightmare!! must of got through about £20 worth of blades!!

Tried soaping up with strip washer,rubbing then a small scaper
This morning,but it would`nt touch it all.
I`m assuming it is cello tape,it`s certainly not window film.

Does anybody know how to get cellotape,and gaffer tape marks of the security film on some commercial jobs? Bloody 'mare,cant scrape it because of the film,and just looks a mess!

White spirit works when removing labels from new windows. Just needs a bit of elbow grease. I would think it would work for sellotape too. Certainly wouldn't use a scraper.

Exactly what I was going to write.  I've had a few like this recently.  The more difficult stuff might be hard to get off but it will come off - even if it's in several layers.

Worked fine for me, wasn't slow. Apply it ~ wipe off. Simples

 Citraclean just rub on with microfibre and leave a minute it will go soft and come off.

I have always used the unger trim jobby
This will bump the tape and glue off in seconds

You can usually get it off using the end of your applicator and a good rub.
