well that worked well - retirement homes
« on: July 21, 2011, 05:04:10 pm »
we came up with a nice little idea regards retirement homes.

we already do a few but not too many as some are now going to national and getting subbed out like most stuff now.

anyway we came up with a little internal window cleaning round and thought best to start it on these retirement homes.

basically we went to every home in the area: spoke to the house manager about it and they were all fine with the scheme as most of the window cleaners wouldnt do the insides of flats.

works like this: £4 per flat for the insides, a min of 10 booking before we call and all window must be cleared.

the house manager sticks a monthly sheet on the notice board - the customers just stick there flat number down.

then the house manager will email us the flat numbers to confirm the booking of over 10 customers, we do the house manager flat for free for their troubles.

we email back with a date to confirm when we are coming, that gives time for customer to remove any crap from the window area.

so rainy day work so far, 3 dif homes, all having 15 flats done per month 45 so far in total. takes about 2 hrs including travel (very close to eachother)

we only picked the more posher type homes as i cant be doing with that nasty pee smell you get in some homes.

I'm thinking of doing something similar as I do lots of retirement or sheltered housing complexes but I only do stair well and conservs, and all the sitting areas and such, all the resident windows are manky but nobody does em as it's council run homes

Mate of mine does the same thing, leaves a note on the notice board and whilst he's there doing communal's he does whichever flats want him as well

I have been a bit hesitant as it's all Council but there are over 10 care homes so could do ok out of it

good idea - especially as most of us will end up in one anyway!

"you know, I used to clean these windows"
I've never been to bed with an ugly bird but I've woken up with loads!
