« on: July 20, 2011, 09:20:01 pm »
Does there seem to be a boom in window cleaners lately or is it hust me .Seen more companys than ever and just had canvassers knocking on the door for the first time in years.
Do you think this industry is being overkilled now ?

Every year since I started it seems I see loads of new faces but it's not worth worrying about unless you have work being pinched. It does seem that every other car has ladders on top,I must admit.Still picking up plenty of work though.

I wouldnt want to start up now as there are lots of new cleaners around here, luckily when i started about 6 years ago the economy was "ok" and 2 cleaners packed up around my area, it must be hard to get going these days.
Im not scared of heights, just falling from them.

Give it a year or 2 and a lot of the so-called newbies won't be around.
First of all its harder work than they imagine, they don't know how to price a job correctly, they worry about other window cleaners, they only like working outside in the summer, the list goes on.

just look online, there are loads of van systems up for sale and rounds for sale now.

if your looking for them they are everywhere!lots near me and some commercial guys are moving onto big domestics.plenty of houses and glass.some are cowboys(not all of them though) doing rubbish work.im also picking up new work at a steady rate without trying!!

just concentrate on your own business, doing a good job and dont charge sky high prices and you ll be ok IMO.

Stop helping them out on here!

Give them proper advice on how to run a business rather than the pie in the sky some spout on here.

Make sure your customers love you.
