i dont see how there is much difference, well only 2 or 3 days difference. By monthly, do you mean that you clean on the same date each month? if so you will have to work saturdays and sundays, unless im missing the point.

I used to do 4 weekly & it seems to come round like lightening. I used to get the usual comments. Although in reality there's not much difference with monthly, I think it's more psychological! ;D

I went to 5 weekly & my round just seemed more harmonious. I'm now 6 weekly most of the time & I just tell new clients a minimum of 5 weeks. ;)

i started off monthly and got sick of it trying keep up with dates to clean each house, went to 5 weekly as i dont like 4wks to often for me personally, dont get many 'not that time again' now, even tho i can see it in some custards faces sometimes, i offer 5wks or 10 wks,but most of the custys just think its monthly or bi-monthly

we do 4 weekly or 8 weekly.

as the winter / rain can put you behind a bit i always give the customer the number of cleans the can expect per year.

so 4 weekly works out a 13 clean but with being busy on bigger jobs and bad weather i tell the customers its a 10 - 12 cleans a year on 4 weekly basis or 5 - 7 on the 8 weekly.

i suppose really you cant do monthly cleans, it will need to be 5 weekly, but unless you have enough work and you are always behind, you will loose a weeks money.

On my monthly stuff I tell em I will never be less than 4 weeks and try not to be more than a calendar month. This allows for weekends bank hols etc.

In reality most monthly custies end up being 11 or 12 a year because if really bad weather puts me late in the winter then I go 4 weeks/ 1 month from the last clean.

My best rated custies (as in money per hour) get the full 12 cleans and my less good ones 11.

On my two monthly stuff it can be anything between just under 8 weeks to just over 9, depending on weather and time of year. Usually its 8 give or take a day or two.

The rare bit of three monthly flats and a Doctor's surgery I work on 12 weeks and slowly gain a bit.
It's a game of three halves!

I've gone from four weekly to monthly purely to stop customers moaning about the almost twice a month cleans.

I work on the basis of calendar weeks so first four full weeks of every month that way it gives me an average of three week days off a month to concentrate on other sections of the business plus if I run behind it gives me a decent buffer...

I used to get a lot of "not today" and "that time already?" when I tried to do a monthly service.
Now I just offer 6 weekly (meaning 6-8 weekly) and tell them it should end up as 7 cleans a year aloowing for holidays, winter freeze etc.  If they want 12 weekly it's 3-4 cleans a year with a higher price.
I do have commercial jobs at other frequencies and sometimes it feels like they ought to be on a separate round entirely.

i say to customers im round every 4-6 weeks.earliest is 4 weeks bang on but its usually 5 weeks so calendar monthly.i have a fair few bigger account on 8 weekly and they normally get done on time.i very rarely get any problems from customers for getting round on time.lots of my compact estate work is cheaper than some other longer frequency work so they dont mind paying £5-£6-£7 to have their windows cleaned.

nearly all new work is either 6-8 weekly that are not on my compact estate work.prices are much better though! ;) ;D ;D
price higher/work harder!

for the past 2 yrs i have been telling custys 4 weekly due to confusion with some custys , i used to offer once a fortnight or monthly but really  meant every 2 or 4 wks which most custys understood but if i had cleaned windows say 1st of the month then went back on the 29th some custys would come out and say i was early and not due till the 1st of the following month ,  if i mis understood and you mean changing your schedule i think you will lose out financially mate and if custys are used to 4 wkly surely they will be forever asking why you are late

Ive had to do this, when i started i said it was monthly, because basically it is, but like you said when you clean on the 1st then the 29th they dont like it, so i tell them every 4 weeks, i still get customers making comments when the are done twice on a month after 7 years, i just explain its every 28 days and they are fine
