I decided that I would stay in a grateful state of mind and give deep, heartfelt thanks for everything I did, saw, felt, and experienced that day.

It's easy for me to feel gratitude for many many things.  But I'm a lucky person; that's all; just lucky.

Some people aren't so lucky.  What do those who're starving in East Africa feel grateful for?  What about those who lose a child?  And those who get cancer 'before their time'?  And my mate whose paralysed from the neck down, lives pretty much in a chair, drinks coffee through a baby cup; or my brother in law whose crippled with MS, what does he feel grateful for?  The pain or the depression?  Which is it?

I guess I should feel grateful I'm not one of my examples, but that doesn't feel right to me; why should I be happy at the expense of other people's misery?

On the other hand, we live in a dualistic world; you cannot have light without dark, and you can't have happiness without misery; so maybe things are the way they are, because that's the way they need to be?

Just some questions to ponder, I guess; I don't have the answers.

Thanks for you comment Tosh, yes I see what you are saying, and I understand fully but for all the studying I have done so far regarding UNIVERSE AND ALL THE LAWS THAT EXCISITE , it say that we all cause what happens to us which is called  (THE LAW OF ATTRACTION), don’t ask me why, because I don’t have the answer but it just happens, so if you have bad thought about some one or something that badness returns back to you, but if you are in a state of love and gratitude and happiness towards any one or anything , it also surely return back to you. We have so far not discovered this as yet as to how , but I can promise you soon or later some will discover it.

... and now I am so full of gratitude and so happy and grateful I want to share it with you! I have written a book called "How to be happy and grateful and grateful and happy!" - I am so happy that I only want ten dollars for it and then if you pass the gratefulness and happiness on you too can make nine dollars per book and I keep one and so on until you achieve the "pyramid of happiness" and true enlightenment by making millions of people happy from my book!

My next book "From Negative British Cynic to Positive American Apple Pie" is available to all grateful people! Just send ten dollars y'all!

 ;D ;D  Hi Gold

Here is a beautiful story that we should all practice every day and is a true story.

For most of my adult life I believed that an attitude of gratitude is a good thing to have. As often as possible I tried to be humble and grateful for the blessings I received, but I didn't fully grasp just how powerful a gratitude practice could be until I set an intention to "Live From Gratitude" for an entire day.

What does that mean, to "Live From Gratitude?"

I decided that I would stay in a grateful state of mind and give deep, heartfelt thanks for everything I did, saw, felt, and experienced that day.

From the moment I opened my eyes early that morning, I began giving thanks for everything and everyone that entered my awareness. I thought about each of my family members and friends, and gave thanks for their presence in my life. I gave thanks for my home, my business, my car, my clothing, my health, and my cats.

As I moved through my daily activities, I gave thanks for everything I touched, ever ything I saw or heard, everything I felt, and everything that happened to me - even the annoying and challenging experiences.

I gave thanks for our dishes and utensils as I washed them, as well as the water I was washing them in, and for my hands that enabled me to wash them. A few of those items were wedding gifts for my husband and I, and as I washed each one, I recalled our wedding day with joy and gratitude, and gave thanks for my husband and the life we share together.

During my business activities that day, I gave heartfelt thanks for my clients and the passionate work that fulfills me and allows me to make a difference in the world. I also gave thanks for the challenges my work sometimes brings, simply because they strengthen me.

I expressed sincere gratitude for everything I saw, heard, felt, did or experienced throughout the entire day, big or small, good or bad. Not only did I SAY "thank you" for these things, I made sure to really FEEL the fee lings of gratitude and appreciation for them. As I'm sure you can imagine, that was a LOT of gratitude!

The results that came from my day of living from gratitude were astounding. It was one of the most powerful days of my life.

All day long I kept meeting the nicest, greatest people everywhere I went. My income for that day jumped up to roughly three times what it normally was, without me having to lift a finger to make it happen. I kept noticing awesome opportunities, tools, and resources that would help me grow my business or improve some aspect of my life. Some of these things had been right under my nose all along, but I'd never noticed them before.

I received so many great gifts as a result of my day of living from gratitude, but the true gift of that day is the way I felt all day long.

Never in my life can I remember feeling so humbled, so blessed, so RICH. Everything around me became SACRED in ways that I can't even describe.

Stru ggle, strain, anxiety, frustration, fear, anger . . . they all just faded away. Everything I saw and experienced was uplifting, inspiring and beneficial. My life was transformed that day, into something that I never dreamed would be possible. I'd thought my life was good before that - but my new attitude of gratitude took it to a whole new level of goodness.

That day stands out in my memory as one of the best days of my life. In fact, it was so powerful that I've since adopted my "living from gratitude" mind-set as an ongoing intention. Every day I strive to live from gratitude - and each day gets more and more magical the longer I do it.

Try it yourself and see if it doesn't have the same wonderful effect on your life.  :)

and all this because you bought a CLX ?

i agree that we should all be grateful for each day we have and make the most of it!as a lot of you know my girlfriend has cancer and is soon to start chemo when her wound heals properly.

shes such a nice caring selfless woman despite her awful childhood.taking her to her graduation on tuesday then a slap up meal afterwards.the teaching degree she did a few years ago she couldnt go to due to battling liver cancer.

ive had brief glimpses  of a higher power in my own life with unbelievable moments of peace and gratitude but why is it that we have all the suffering and misery as well?

i get what you are saying boshravie but it comes across  gushing and cringeworthy when you "over egg" the pudding" so to speak! ;D ;D ;D ;D

best wishes to you all

Sorry to hear that Dazmond.

Google "Viktor Frankl" and read about his experiences (the Wiki article is good) and way of looking at  utterly incomprehensibly awful circumstances; it is very humbling and encouraging.

I am very grateful for what I have, and for who has allowed me to have these things.

It seems to me that it is not about what material possessions, wealth, or such things we have, but what we are content with.

I have a very simple outlook on life, and try to take nothing for granted.

I believe it's also important to have a positive attitude, and to always try to put the interests of others before our own. This will produce another quality in us which is on the decline, that of happiness.

Here is another great one for you guys  :)

Law of Cause and Effect

And here is the grand daddy of them all. Do you know, Ralph Waldo Emerson said, ‘The Law of Cause and Effect was the Law of Laws” ?
How do you like what is coming into your life? Do you know what it is? It is a reflection of what you are sending out. That is right. This whole universe operates by law. Action- Reaction are equal and opposite.

What you put out comes back. Energy returns to its source of origination. It is such a magnificent law to understand, The Law of Cause and Effect.

The law of cause and effect is truly the law of laws. This law states whatever you sow, you reap. Now, I want you to take five minutes and review the results you are getting in your life, your happiness, your health, your wealth.
If you want to earn more money, you have got to provide more service, but you do not have to work harder. Work is the worst way to earn money.

How about your health, stay in the good vibration and you are going to be very
healthy. You know, the effect is the result of the cause, the cause is the thinking and how about our friendships. How about how we feel about our self ? just look for the good in everybody and you are going to feel really good. The Law of Cause
and Effect, whatever you put out today, is what is going to come back.

I want you to take five minutes, and think of the good that you can do, understanding you are just going to put it out. You may not get it back from the person you give it to, it does not make any difference, the universe will send it back and it does not generally come back from the source where you gave it.

Do not channel from any particular source, open the windows and the doors and

expect the good to come from all sources. Just think of how you can sow good seeds today.  :)

Was he a Boodist or sommat?  Karma is the law of cause and effect.

How do you like what is coming into your life? Do you know what it is? It is a reflection of what you are sending out. That is right. This whole universe operates by law.

So, here we have in the news that missionary workers are killed in Afghanistan; they were there trying to save lives, yet they get murdered.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-south-asia-10900338

Are you saying that they were murdered because of their 'reflection'?  What law caused these decent people to be killed?  Also what about children, when they're raped and murdered; is that because they've been sending out the wrong reflections?

What you put out comes back.

In what way?  I've just farted; how does that come back?

Energy returns to its source of origination.

Nope!  What school did you go to?  Energy can change states, never destroyed, but it doesn't go back to its source of origination.  Our energy is derived from the Sun.  So how does it get back there?

The law of cause and effect is truly the law of laws.

Karma?  Yes, unlike a court of law, you can't lie to your karma, though it's normally referred to as a natural force, rather than a 'law' since there's no deity judging and dishing out punishments.

This law states whatever you sow, you reap.

Not always in life, you don't.  What did those aid workers sow to have themselves get murdered?  There's loads of examples of bad things happening to good people; explain that?

Now, I want you to take five minutes and review the results you are getting in your life, your happiness, your health, your wealth.  If you want to earn more money, you have got to provide more service, but you do not have to work harder. Work is the worst way to earn money.

Money eh?  Is that your 'God'?  There's plenty of rich people with good health who kill themselves.  Bosh, mate, The Secret is a load of rollocks, and you're only making the people who market it rich.  Why don't you have a look at some of the free stuff that's available?
