Varistream Problems Already

Just got it through door, and set it up in pumo box

Turned it on and it flashed L for a couple of secs then U

On the manual it says L is Low Voltage

And U is Uundercharged

I didnt think my battery was undercharged though

I Charged it fully the other night and only used it yesterday for 8 hours?

Strange

Gonna charge it tonight then try again,

Ladders were so much more simpler

Had similar a while back Sean.  Turned out that my battery was on the blink but just hanging on so I wasn't aware.  The Varistream doesn't seem to like low voltages.  Otherwise it could be a faulty Varistream.

Its a one month old battery ?

When i use it straight through to the pump all is ok

after christmas i bought a new battery used it a couple of times and had the same thing, turned out the charger was faulty and saying fully charged.

my varistream is just running at full pelt all the time.tried calibrating it yet again.no difference!its starting to pee me off now.i can work faster but im out of water by 3pm(350L TANK).that includes tradding the odd ground floor windows and using an aqua-daptor.no sure what to do with it!! >:( >:( >:(

had the same problem my flow master would run ok  but if i tried to use my variflow it would say batt  at the end i had to change my battery as it had gone   with new battery no problems   i would check battery voltage as the variflow has a system in it to stop running battery flat and ruinning it   hope that helps

always having problems with batterys and the info iv been given is that 12-14 hours charge is no were near enough if used for a day(8 hours) so in time you start to knacker the battery has your nothing charging it fully even a new battery like yours.

not saying this is the case and you could get a ampemeter(think its caled that) to check how its charging and how full of charge it is.

Ronnie, I've a quality charger that tells me when my battery is charged, and even after a good hard day my leisure battery charges overnight, on a trickle charge, no problems.

my system has two pumps so proberly uses twice the power...but could do with a better charger that gives me that info ......were was it from?

Ronnie, we have a two man system as well; though granted I normally work by myself in the afternoon.  I bought it from a local shop (Mincost) and it was about £80.

With the digital varistream, I've got to charge my battery up overnight.  I have a split charge relay, but not wired it up; but it's no problem to me to unload the battery while the van is filling up for the next day.

If I don't charge the battery up, I also get a flashing "L", eventually followed by a "U" and it turns the pump off.  It's annoying because it doesn't do that with my cleaning warehouse flow controller.

However, when working by myself, I do prefer the varistream controller.  It turns off just by pressing the button, rather than the cleaning warehouse one which makes me 'press and hold' for a second.  I calculate that over the course of the year I waste 3 minutes 47 seconds just stood there 'pressing and holding'.  Flippin' frustrating that is.

Fried my varistream - bought switch part no GW71N (I think) from Maplins for about £2 (plus two spares) and repaired my pump. No varistream!

Burn your Varistreams boys! ;D

I think you can reset the the amount it uses on each no 1-9 ? but i might be wrong

I have been working that way for a while but just wanted to control my water flow whilst i change over my trad stuff

Once ive done that i may very well just wire the pressure switch back upto my on/off switch which i have left on the pump box :)
