pure freedom taps seem ok , you could allso try local companys like pirteck or hoseline as these have many more diffrent types of taps .
you could allso try ball valves that you can get from alex .

I'm getting really fed up with the standard WFP taps that all the companies sell... The actual tap always comes lose after no time, and they start leaking from the joints to!

Thanks, do you reckon that's about 6 months, or not that often?

I've heard that the nuts loosen quite quickly (lock nuts or threadlock glue might help this), and hose/loop can easily get twisted.

Why not try a trigger ? I have been using one for 20 months without any problems

Of course what suits some doesn't suit others.  The disadvantages I see with a trigger are the loop of hose, and keeping your hand in one place all the time.  If that's not a problem for you, great!

You dont need to keep your hand in one place to hold the trigger in position. When I used a trigger I also rigged together a simple mechanism that flipped over the trigger handle to hold it in place, it was as simple and quick to use as turning a tap handle and was made from 3 cable ties.

Ingenious!  "where there's a will there's a way"  I guess it depends on whether you want to spend the time 'rigging things together' for a DIY solution (some of us enjoy doing that), and can live with the loop of hose.

I use the ez hose valve

I locktight glue the screw in for the handle and that way the valve last 6 months to a year. I don't find having a loop of hose a problem but if I've got a run of windows I'll pinch the hose to control the water flow rather than use the tap.

i use the push fit valve, in the above link,
ive put the aquadapter inserts into both ends of the hose that goes into the valve and it never pulls out.

ive got 2 aqua-daptors (fitted  on my slx and clx.)excellent!a bit pricey but no hassle with snagging loop of hose.they have speeded me up greatly.
