Got a new 12mm brill bit and all the stuff needed to fit them but my question is i have a purefreedom trolley which with pencil jets i have the the flow setting on 35-40, im i right in thinking that with fan jets i can turn the flow rate down if so how nmuch can i turn it down.

I run fan jets on full bore.

Run them higher they will work better, I run mine on 50, and they use less water than running my pencils on 40.

I agree turn the flow rate up not down
with a trolley try using a smaller diameter hoses instead
